My family refuses to use male pronouns!

I decided to test the waters...told my mom I was doing an experiment of living as a guy for a week. I told her to use male pronouns for that week and to use my male name. Well...she won't do it. She refused. And that was just for a week! What am I to do about wanting her to use them permenately? I would usually say "fine..do what you want" but then I know she would out me in public. And the rest of my family? I know for a fact that they would roll their eyes at me and continue using female pronouns.

Didn't your therapist ask you to do the experiment?  I would say it's what the therapist that you chose is asking me to do it.  How can we make progress in therapy if my family won't support me in doing what my therapist said.

I agree with rob...especially if they were the ones to pick the therapist. I think that would make them a little more willing...
