I've heard about how gels/creams/patches are more expensive than needles.  But how much more expensive?  Does anyone have numbers or examples?  And does insurance only cover a particular one?  Like, only covers needle injections but not the alternatives or something?

In Canada, insurance doesn't cover testosterone.  I don't know about other countries.

I'm not completely sure of exact costs, but try to go to a compounding pharmacy for gels.  It can make the difference between double and triple digits.

Compounding pharmacy?  What's the difference between that and a regular pharmacy?

Nygeel

My generic 100mg/mL vial (10mL) of T along with 6 needles and syringes cost around $65. I do not have any insurance.

Mine is the same cost as Nygeel because I also have no insurance. I wish I could tell you a price difference but I'm not sure. Maybe Stroheckers does cream/gel? They might have it cheaper if they do. I'm not sure. From what I've heard as far as insurance, they vary in what they cover depending on the company.

A compounding pharmacy has the drug made up there while a regular pharmacy buys the bulk drug and distributes it according to your script.

My insurance does not cover my T. For injectable I paid around $70 (with needles and syringes), it is around $95 if it is name brand. That lasts about 4-5 months. I was on Testim for 1 month, I got a free 30 day trial but otherwise it is $270 a month. I am looking into how much it will cost me to get a cream compounded.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

Hmmm.  Does the cost purely depend on the brand or the pharmacy as well?

As far as getting T in the states stroheckers is the cheapest, its 70 and 60 depending on if you go cyp or eth.  Not sure about patches gels or creams, but i can tell you with anything other than injections you won't see results as quickly.

I was talking to a guy a while ago who said that he got T gel from a compounding pharmacy for $30 a month.

I have insurance so injectable T is $20/every 84 days. Patches cost $20/month. Gel is $20/month. The pellets are not covered yet.

Cost will vary depending on insurance, brand and pharmacy.

I know patches and gels are more expensive than injecting but i'm not sure exact costs. Stroheckers is the best place to get your T filled. They are based out of Portland, Oregon and they will ship it to you. Their's is about $60 with needles included. I also some times get my T filled by my university. They run about the same as stroheckers. If you go to a university I would also look into that.

Sorry for commenting again but wanted to mention CVS is about the same price for injectables as Stroheckers I'm pretty sure but they usually have no problems answering if you want to give them a call. That's where I get mine from without insurance.

Also, from what I've seen of videos of shots vs. cream I've seen slower changes but that could just be a difference in dosage. I think there are some threads of debate about that if you want to search it.

NightWing

The rate of change doesn't bother me actually. Just as long as it's happening and I'm putting something in my body to change it, I'll be happy. I'm extremely phobic of needles, and I'm 90% certain I'm going to have diabetes when I get older, so I don't wanna be stuck stabbing myself with 2 needles for the rest of my life.

I also suggest calling up Fenway. Their prices should be comparable or better than Strohecker's.

I get my testosterone from a compounding pharmacy called the Apothecary Shop. It is 49.50 and that includes the T, syringes and overnight shipping.

Here is a site with some price estimates for the different forms of T. Scroll down to section 5 "Types of androgen therapy"

Hope that helps bro
