On Thursday, January 13, 2010, online anime website Crunchyroll will start streaming new episodes of Wandering Son (Hourou Musuko), the animated adaptation of the Takako Shimura's award-winning manga about a boy and a girl trying to come to terms with their sexual and emotional identities as transgendered tweens just entering puberty.

This anime adaptation is produced by AIC Classic and directed by Ei Aoki.  The first episode will air online shortly after its debut on Japanese TV on Thursday, January 13, and will be available to Crunchyroll subscribers only. Other viewers can check out this first episode of Wandering Son a week later, on January 20.

Hikari

this has been my favorite manga for many years now, and I look forward to it greatly.

The only bad thing is this anime will only be a half season so storyline wise it probably won't get past the first volume of the manga. This is the same thing that happened with Aoi Hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) Takako Shimura's other manga that was made into an anime. From my understanding  (info from ANN) though the manga of Hourou Musuko has been relesed in North America as of this December. So watch the anime and if you want the rest of the story buy the manga, its been running since 2002 and has 12 volumes already.
