When I was a beginner, I looked androgynous was not passable but now thanks to hormones I pass generally more or less except a few % who are very clever to detect and I'm from a very conservative Asian country. Here we are treated worse than dogs.

I have been called:
'Creature'
What's that 'THING'?
F@ggot(and all its derogatory synonyms which exist)
It's a 'MAN'!
Some teased me "Hi 'SIR'! "

I have been thrown a bottle of 0.5L of Coke but I managed to move, threatened to be beaten, I have been snatched off my wig in public, I have almost been spat on, I have teased notoriously by straight men gangs, some will not do or say anything but their LOOKS if could kill, I would have been dead since long. And the most annoying are those women and girls who talk among themselves on you, then explode in a big laughter.

How do YOU generally react when insulted? 1. You backchat and counterblast them off or 2. You simply ignore them. Generally I am sheepish and always stay quiet as long as it is 'verbal'. I don't have guts to talk cos I'm afraid to make a scene in public and even those who didn't doubt or know what I am will actually get to know or I'm afraid to get beaten by the gang of men and this might degenerate to an ugly physical fight. The only time I retaliated off and fought physically was when I was snatched off my wig but besides that I always stay quiet and pretend to ignore them when I only know how much I get hurt inside myself. Life is so dangerous for people like us in my country that I constantly need to walk with a knife and be always on guard.

Can you share your worst personal experience in public, like what they have done to you or told you and HOW did you defend yourself?

Being tossed down a flight of stairs was pretty insulting, as was being stabbed.
Both actions said "You are less than human and I'll treat you as such."

Then again, the thing that hurt me the most was being called 'him' by a new employee at work after I'd been transitioned for 3 years and not been clocked in public for roughly 2. It's the unexpected incidents that get you the most - when I was pre-HRT and dressed as a woman, I expected to be made fun of and slurs to be used against me.

Vexing what do you mean by 'stabbed'? You mean you were stabbed by a knife?  :o

Yes.

OMG!  :o This is TERRIBLE! I'm sorry to hear about that dear. In my country they killed my friend and still, he was not trans but just gay. He was a rich guy, elder than me and lived alone. A gang of straight men made him believe that they were interested with him. He brought them to his house. And there they tortured him, beaten and did the worst thing that you could imagine. They burnt him with cigarretes, smashed a bottle on his head and dunno what else. They forced him to thrash out his secret code of his ATM card so they could remove money. It was in the local newspaper in 2002. After torturing and killing him, they took and stole everything valuable that they could from his house. A few days after, when I was sleeping I saw him in my dream and he told me "SISTER, HELP ME!".  :embarrassed:

That's horrible  :(

I'd like to add though, if you're going to talk about horrific incidents in detail like that, can you please add **TRIGGER WARNING** at the start of the story?
This is so that people (like me) who might be triggered by reading stuff like that will be forewarned and can avoid reading it.
