SG:
There is only a smell problem if you don't wash regularly. Just the same as the rest of your body. A womans vagina, GG or post-op, will have a natural odor, that is slight, if kept clean. For most women, and their partners, it is not a problem. In fact, just the opposite

.
These days, most vaginaplasty is performed using the penile inversion technique. That is the safest and least invasive type of procedure. However there is another technique that uses a section of the sigmoid colon as the neo-vagina. This technique requires two surgeries, one to harvest the sigmoid colon from the abdomen and the other is the vaginaplasty, using the harvested colon.
This method is not used as often. One side effect of using the colon, however, is a rectal odor that may remain for several months following the procedure. That may be referring to what you have heard. Eventually this odor does go away as well.
Let me assure you that you can have plenty of very nice sensations down there! The creation of the neo-clitoris preserves some of the sensate nerves of the glans and vaginal penetration can message the prostate and create an orgasm as well. And like most women, a partners sensitivity, technique, and patience, help bring fulfillment.
