No, no, I swear it isn't a still from the fired Navy Commander's porn movies. Just a bunch of bored sailors entertaining themselves and each other with an old-fashioned drag show in this vintage snap. Looks reasonably modern but I can't date it.

Pretty dumb writing for a PhD, that's almost undoubtedly from a ceremony called King Neptune's Court where pollywogs become shell-backs when they cross the equator for the first time.  The earliest mention of initiation ceremonies date from 1529 but was probably done even before that.

I guess when they get the internet wherever she is a PhD she'l be able to do like real research.
