Nigella

Hi all,

I was wondering for a few months now since my GRS has/does anyone else experience what can only be described as tingly waves that quite often seem to run over my labia in a wave sensation. I have put this down to nerve regeneration and the electrical impulses jumping gaps in the nerve endings until they have fully grown together again. Am I right. It is most often felt when I've laid down on or in bed.

Just curious and I'm not worried about it. BTW its a nice sensation too, lol.

I'm at almost 9 months, and I still get those occasionally. They do feel good when they happen.

Yes - and I used to get a similar sensation over my scrotum sometimes.

Thanks Kat, they certainly do feel good, lol. I've not read of anyone else who has mentioned this sensation so thanks again. BTW I'm coming up to 7 months post op.

Yep, know the feeling and I put it down to the nerves regenerating etc.

Never experienced that, that tissue never had much feeling for me. What I feel originates at the clitoris.

Hi kat,

I have never read anyone else saying about this sensation before or as far as I can remember so I was curious. As others have commented it seems its a little more common than I first thought. It must be what I gathered in the first place in that its the nerve endings regenerating. How cool the human body is isn't it. I felt sensation from day two even in the clitoral and urethral areas as well as these other sensations. My nurse didn't believe me and said she thought I wouldn't be able to but I did. So its kind of a huge sigh of relief that everything was working down there. I still have some numbness around the inner labia but the tingly sensations flow over this as well even though it feels numb to the touch.

Thanks to all who replied as well.

Mr.Hyde

I'm like about one week and half from my top surgery and I get those tingly waves all the time. They feel soo good, like a refreshing splash of fresh water in the face in the morning.
I associate it to nerves and tissue regenerating, too.

Hiya, thanks Mr Hyde, nice to hear from the other side of the fence that there is evidence of this too. It must be as we suspect, nerve regeneration.

Heal well and be kind to yourself.
