YAY BABY.  ;D  And the commercials were pretty good this year.

Yeah, it's good for Green Bay, but bad for the NFL, it's games like this that keep the ratings going down.  Really, they couldn't even get the national anthem right, the commercials were the worst bunch ever (when the amateur commercials outdo the professional ones you know you're in trouble) and the two teams were both kinda mediocre, and played that way.  No real excitement.

On the other hand, it was 80 yesterday and that's reason enough not to watch too much TV.

It is interesting to note that both men and women watch and enjoy the Superbowl.     I am British and I make a point of never watching sport, especially macho team sports.   Why is that?   Well, team sports here in GB are often very tribal in an aggressive, hostile, looking for a fight way.  There is little tradition of 'friendly rivalry'.  The chants on football and rugby terraces are often racist, violent, homophobic and here in Scotland religious and sectarian.  The whole atmosphere is very tiresomely male.
My mother watches showjumping on television and my sister will occassionally watch a tennis match.  Apart from that sport just doesn't feature in our house.
In Australia a lot of women go to Aussie Rules games as the players are very manly.

Being a western PA girl I was greatly saddened by the turn of events.  Pittsburgh played so poorly that any team in the league could have beaten them that day.  It's too bad they don't have a playoff series like they do in most other sports.

Green Bay!!! Woohoo!!! They are my favourite team even though I don't follow football. Also, I have always hated all teams from the state of PA with a passion for no particular reason (sorry Maddie; no hard feelings).

Largely because huge amounts of the country was snowed in so they didn't have a choice.  Yet, notice a few days later the post about CA messing up the anthem gets more posts than the one on the game itself.  That's pretty telling.

I mean it had it moments, but the both came in the first half (unless you count the Steelers missing a field goal).  By rights that score should have been another 14 points higher for GB, and he should have got 400 years passing but he had receivers drop passes that they should have had.

That game was over, done, and put to bed when GB picked 6 on Ben.

Ratings are higher every year now though, and more people are tuning into football each year as well.
I'm sure the ratings are higher now because the Super Bowls in general have been amazing recently. Cardinals-Steelers, NYG-Patriots and even last years was decent.
I thought this superbowl was pretty boring actually, and I almost left, as there wasn't anything exciting happening

Great point about the dropped passes which is unusual for them...Also Green Bay had many on the IR and even lost 2 key players during the game...So, again.......YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Green Bay, although it really really hurts to say that as a Bears fan.

Can't stand The Packers for obvious reasons.
