Is it bad to just blatantly tell her I'm only there to get a letter for hormones? Because I told my mom this (she was a little puzzled, as she thought I had be on blockers first), and she didn't really say yes or no, just told me that it'll be hard when all my peers notice that I'm getting muscles and a masculinized face and everything.

Are there any questions I should ask her? I'm going to ask my mom tomorrow to ask her if she's had trans clients before, and if she has connections to an endo (because she isn't qualified to write prescriptions herself).

I wouldn't imagine so.  I saw some replies in another thread saying that it was ok to do.  And that's what I said while contacting my future therapist, so I wouldn't worry.

That's what I did. She asked why I was there and I said that I only planned on going long enough to get my letter. We sorted a few things with my family and then I just went and talked about basically nothing. She knocked all of the necessary questions out in the first 2 or 3 sessions. I went back once more almost a year later to get my surgery letter and stayed for less than 20 minutes.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

That's what I did too, they still need to go through the process of asking you what they have to but the fact that you are clear about what you want will likely make things easier.

Glad to see this post, I have not had my first therapy session either.  I wasn't really sure what to say.  Saying I am there to get my letter for hormones sounds like a good start though.  After many years I finally know who I am so I really just would like my letter so I begin my new life as ME....I hope to hear more about your first session.   :)
