Lately, I have been reading all sorts of stories about how the ultra right wing extremist Republicans want to protect faith based bigotry, by passing laws that permit people to claim their hatred of LGBT/TQ people is the major tenet of their religion. These Christians claim dog or god or whatever requires them to practice discrimination and bigotry against LGBT/TQ people the same way their magic invisible sky daddy required them to keep people from Africa as slaves.
