Ok, so I'm not sure if this is the right area for this topic, and the title is a little extreme, but I have to whine!

I hate my shoulders! I feel like they are huge! Also, I have this "bulk" of muscle right on either side of my neck that looks so disgusting to me. What makes things worse is that I have tiny hips and a sort of barrelly chest! My sister and friends tell me they aren't broad at all, but they are only saying that while viewing me as male. :(

I know that HRT won't affect bone structure, but would it possibly make the bulky neck and shoulder muscles go down? And is any change to be expected in the hip department? I am not really even close to being on HRT anytime soon, I am just curious if some of my body issues could perhaps be resolved after I start!

I'm sorry to sound so distraught over something as silly as shoulders.. It's odd how little things can bother us so. :/

But in other news! My mother talked to me and is ok with me transitioning eventually! :D So I'm very very excited about that! Now all I need is a job, a few thousand dollars and a doctor/therapist! :D Woot! ^_^

Once you start with HRT, your muscle mass around your neck and shoulders does decrease, giving you a slimmer, more feminine look. I had the same problem as you have now. After almost 4 months of HRT, the changes have happened. I have also noted some fat distribution around my hips. Not a lot, but my male pants (Horror!) seem to have shrunk while hanging in my closet for a while! ::)

Here's hoping that you can commence your HRT soon! Believe me, it does wonders for your self esteem. ;D

I know plenty of girls with shoulders broader than their hips...the hourglass figure tends to be idolised by the trans comunity but in reality most women don't have that shape of body.

Im in same boat. Even though I'm skinny i have quite broad shoulders.  Would be great if i was going to be a linebacker but not quite ideal for a feminine form ;3

I have this issue as well. Fortunately, HRT has turned all my muscle mass into fat
in my arms and around my shoulders so I don't look muscular, just fat. HA!
Now if only I could lose the extra fat  :-\
As far as hips, I have noticed a change but very subtle.
