I dont talk to my grandmother anymore, she stopped giving me financial support because I moved into an apartment with a male roommate. She is the kind of person who gives you money when you are doing what she approves of.

So I stopped calling her, except for holidays, I called her for thanksgiving, Christmas, and I called her today because my birthday is coming up.

she has no idea about my transition or hormones, or name, and hasn't seen a picture of me in ages, and the last time she saw me was the summer of 2009 right before I started transition.  I would tell her, but my dad thinks he will be disowned.  and I dont want to have to deal with her going insane trying to convince me not to do it.

*ring ring*
her- "hello?"
me-"hey nana"
her- *crickets chirping*
her- "Maggie, is that you?"
me-"yea its me, hey."

her- (bla bla bla for about 15 minutes)

her- "I dont know if you have noticed, but your voice has changed a lot, it is a lot deeper, maybe its because we dont talk as often"

me- (trying to stiffle my laughter) "oh, um well Ive had a cold"

her- "but its been a long time, when I last talked to you too, Papa noticed it too"

me- "oh, well maybe you should ask dad and see if he thinks it has changed"
(i did this just for kicks, cause my dad is the one that doesn't want my grandma to know about me, so it will be funny when she asks him)

You are just a rotten one aren't ya?

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Haha. Nice.

I'm not on T so my voice hasn't lowered, but I talk deeper than my voice actually is and if I'm with my mom in public and I talk deeper, when nobody can see us, she'll say "Why does your voice sound so weird?!?" But she doesn't do that if we're just home by ourselves.

Hi Elijah

You're a guy with sense of humor.
I think it's a nice story, I had to laugh about it.
I think you would like to see the face of your dad when he speaks to grandma, don't you.
You are bad medicine for the family dude, very bad, but ...also very funny.
Keep on going the good work.

Hugs
