Removing the "T" from GLBT

The first three deal with sexual orientation, the last deals with gender identity. The "T," transgender, has nothing to do with sexual desire, only who one is internally, as a human. Not only are the two things wholly unrelated, lumping them together only further propagates stereotypes about transgendered people, and creates greater confusion for cisgendered people who are clueless about GLBs & Ts.

I am a lesbian – a girl who likes girls, that's it. I am transgendered – I was born male. There are many people born male who are women, who like men. They are not gay, they are heterosexual women. Lumping the "T" with the "GLB" only creates even more confusion than would naturally exist for the cisgender community, it helps de-legitimize my lebianism, or heterosexuality for some trans-folk, and all because the GLB establishment seeks higher numbers and visibility.

You know, if you want to leave, well then don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.  The rest of us who are really working for change, instead of just writing about it, are working with those who really work.  I'ts not always perfect, far from it, but alone no one is going to listen to you in the first place.  There are strength in numbers.  If the number is one, you're just jerking it.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...
