Do binders and pools mix well?

I know beaches won't do anything, but what about pools? Wouldn't the chlorine tear most binders?

I've HEARD that both chlorinated pools and salty water can make your binders become useless much more quickly. However, I have zero experience, and thus can't really give you a definite answer.

I would think no, but I don't really know for sure. I used compression shirts in the water and a black shirt over them.

I've never had a problem in both ocean and pool. I went to the dominican republic and sent 75% of the time in the water and my binder didn't wear out any faster.

Chlorine eats up my binders.  Maybe not immediately, but definitely after a while.  I use a tri-top from Underworks, and usually by the time I get around to using them in the pool, they're somewhat old but still definitely intact.  After a few weeks of swimming in them, the back layer begins to wear through and become kind of threadbare, and then a while after that, the front layers begin to be affected.  They still work for a good amount of time, though.

Interesting question.  I did go in pools with a tee shirt years ago.  Now I do not go in the water.  You can wash the clothes after the pool or ocean to extend the life of the elastic.  Maybe a chamis under a tee shirt might work.

it never did anything bad to my binders

but swimming in a binder was hell, you really need to be able to breathe to swim

i always swim in my binder and it doesn't seem to change much.
and i have a question: what is a compression shirt?
