Bad dreams...

Do any of you have nightmares relating to being trans?  Here's one I just woke from:

In my dream, my Mom had just met this new boyfriend, and we all went out for coffee so I could meet him.  He kept poking fun at me, not just about being trans but basically everything he could think of.  He kept calling me 'she', and my Mom wasn't correcting him.  She was basically just going along with it, agreeing with him about every criticism and insult he made.  They started making out in the grossest way possible, and I got up to leave.  As I was walking away my Mom said "I don't know what her problem is."  I turned around, walked back to the table, and told her that she had no excuse to call me a girl because she knew that I'm not.  She said something like "I know, you pretend to be a boy, but that's not the same thing."  I was about to start arguing with her, when... my alarm went off.

It really shook me up.  Odd because in real life she's totally cool with me being trans.

i actually love nightmares because when I wake up and realize that it wasn't real I can be relived, its better then the dreams I have sometimes where I have a penis, or dreams where I have had top surgery.

I belive that nightmares are often our subconscious enhancing our fears.

for example, im terrified of pregnancy, and I had a dream recently that my ex boyfriend ejaculated in me, and last night I drempt that I had a baby, and I had to breast feed it.

Yeah that makes sense, when I first woke up I thought about how happy I am that things aren't really like that for me...

I think I'll go call my Mom and tell her I love her.

I'm glad it's not like that in real life for you.

I definitely agree about it hurting more to have good dreams about it, though.  I hate waking up and realizing that it's not true.

I had a few GOOD dreams where I had a penis...but woke up and was devestated when I realized it was just a dream... I also had a dream that I started T...but alas, I woke up and was once more devestated.

I wish I had these dreams where you wake up and realize it was all just a dream. Lately I've been remembering my dreams, which is odd for me, but I always know I'm dreaming. Since I know I'm dreaming I tend to re do things over and over. I don't pick who I am or the scenario, but I do have some control over what's going on.

sounds like you are a natural lucid dreamer. That's awesome...some people have to teach themselves to lucid dream.  When I was younger I use to have lucid dreams...I could control when I wanted to wake up because I was aware I was dreaming.   Now I just dream that I'm having a lucid dream lol.

I have a dream where I go to a hospital, they put me to sleep, and then I wake up with a guy's body (a penis, flat chest, the works, just like any other guy). And then I wake up, and I'm still in this body, and the dream that felt so real was just a dream. Sometimes, the sheer shock of it can trigger a panic attack. These dreams happen a few times per week.

Yeah I can imagine how awful that would be.  I never actually dream that I'm a guy.  Kind of wish that I did so I could experience it, even if it isn't real.

Oh man, lucid dreams are great.  I wouldn't recommend doing what I did to induce them though... basically I went through a phase where I wanted to take every possible substance I could find.  A benedryl high is not fun and leaves you feeling like ->-bleeped-<- the next day.  However one intense trip made me start having lucid dreams.

sounds like you are a natural lucid dreamer. That's awesome...some people have to teach themselves to lucid dream.  When I was younger I use to have lucid dreams...I could control when I wanted to wake up because I was aware I was dreaming.   Now I just dream that I'm having a lucid dream lol.

I taught myself when I was a little kid. I used to get really bad nightmares and night terrors. I also would sleep walk, I even would leave the house and have no memory of ever doing it. I remember I used to not be able to tell I was dreaming, since my dreams were so realistic I could even feel. I had to work on figuring out that it was a dream and taking control. In my dreams I would often be somewhere I have never been in real life. I realized if I could make myself question the validity of the locations in my dreams, then I could figure out it was a dream and wake myself. While awake I would ask myself if I had been to wherever I was before. I did this whenever my location changed. After it became a habit in real life the action carried over into my dreams. Now I'm very aware that it's a dream and my perspective is even third person sometimes. I don't get nightmares anymore so it would be really cool if I could get myself to have realistic dreams again.

Dude exact same for me! I love that feeling when you like wake up feeling scared or depressed and you realize like a minute later that it was a nightmare and you can stop feeling that way.

And one day last week I had a dream that I had top surgery. I think its because I was watching a bunch of post of videos on youtube but I was just sooo happy in my dream.
