At first glance, D.C.'s drag scene appears dominated by queens. Every day of the week, you can catch men performing as women at Bingo, over brunch, in the club, and in front of the camera, from Adams Morgan to Crystal City to Herndon.

But beyond the sequins, D.C. is also home to the longest-running Drag King show in the world. This year, the DC Kings will celebrate 11 years of performing on D.C. stages; in that time, the group has logged "132 consecutive months" of performances, racking up over 300 shows featuring more than 200 Kings.
