i was just wondering, has anyone had any negative or positive with lesbians in an intimate or friendship relationship as a mtf transwoman?

It will depend on you and the lesbians. There are no rules here.

Like any other group there are positives and negatives. I  personally have always been made very welcome, but I do know of transwomen who have been literally thrown out - and in fact in one case I was one of the lesbians doing the throwing. ;D (although actually for the record I'm technically bisexual )

No doubt she felt it was all because she was trans, but the reality was that it was because she was a pretentious and disruptive little tit who didn't fit in!

There are also some lesbians who feel threatened by transwomen. Best thing is to understand that you can't like or understand everyone in life, so just give them their space and insist that they give you yours.

Interesting topic, and timely as I will be attending a local GLBTIQ festival next week.
I am starting to notice a slight change in orientation from 50-50 bi to finding women more attractive, so will be interested to see how people respond to me when presenting as a woman.
I have a feeling that if the ladies of Dykes on Bikes are as enthusiastic about motorcycling as they sound, then they will be more interested in what goes between my legs than what is there already!

Positive so far, but like jenny said it depends on the person really

My experience with lesbians has been that they are very protective of "woman space", it doesn't really matter what shade of the rainbow you are, but when you go crashing into/around their space like a bull in a china shop they will react negatively (not that I blame them).  Its not becuase you're MtF, its because you're a social nightmare.
Our biograhies are our own and we need to accept our own diversity without being ashamed that we're somehow not trans enough.

In my experience this varies greatly just the same as with every other sector of society.

My ex-sister-in-law is a lesbian and has been very supportive despite the split between my ex and her sister. (We are all still friends, however).

She helped my ex through my transition and as a teacher of adults has  worked with trans and gay trainees in Hackney, London.

I've dealt with lesbians before and of the people I know, most are jackasses to trans women.

Lesbians are just like everyone else.  If you treat them with respect, they will  treat Transwomen with respect.  Get all up in their face about being trans, and you will have a bunch of lesbians in your face.

I have friends who are lesbian and I myself am lesbian.  We are all sisters, under the skin.
