Definitely being gay and being a child-sex-pervert are two completely different things, and I definitely would never equate the two.

That said, as for your thought about self-hatred, speaking in a general sense and not saying anything about the pervert in the link you provided, it does appear that homophobes often have homosexual "feelings" - in fact, it appears remarkably common.

Most child abuse perpetrators are men who self-identify as heterosexual. The thing about sexual abuse (like rape in general) is that it's not about sex, it's about power/control - and therefore sexual orientation is fairly irrelevant. A lot of the men who abuse boys do it simply because they have easier access to them than to girls, not because they're particularly attracted to men.
