Drag queens come with baggage, and they don't pack light.

So it's no wonder that "Priscilla Queen of the Desert," the new Broadway musical about cross-dressing divas on the trip of their lives, has more than 500 costumes. Heck, 295 ostrich plumes are used to fluff out the over-the-top headdresses. Still, the creative impulse for the Australian movie-turned-musical was a single feather that blew out of a drag queen's headdress during Mardi Gras in Sydney two decades ago.
