Yes, he chose to have famous parents and to appear on their show at age four or whatever. Okay, I know what you mean, but he was born in the limelight and, to some extent, would have had a difficult time escaping it completely. With Cher such a big star, I don't see how he could.
The way I understand it, the public figure exclusion (or whatever you call it) doesn't completely absolve a legitimate case of slander or libel, but it sets the bar much, much higher than for non-public figures. Anyway, Ablow was couching his remarks in the context of a professional opinion, something he says he was taught about all trans people. Considering that he must have done his professional training a good twenty years ago, he may well have been taught that. It would be nice if he would actually get up to speed on the
current professional consensus, however.
