Comparing Binders Love boat Shop Vs Underworks

I'm in the market for a new binder and was planning on just buying a new tritop, as my current one is about a year old, but now this thread has me sufficiently confused. 

I'm not very big....about a b, but I tend to mostly wear button ups as I normally don't feel flat enough in t-shirts, but it's going to start getting warmer soon. Any of you guys have suggestions for the best binder to wear with t-shirts?  I guess I'm just wondering what binder is the most flattening without producing the uniboob effect, which for me tends to be more noticeable in t-shirts. 

Also, kind of unrelated, but I don't want to make a whole new thread to ask....have any of you guys figured out a way to make the lines from a binder less noticeable?  I have a friend who I haven't come out to and she sees me as fully male...a couple of times, when hugging or something, she's felt the outline of my binder through my shirt and sort of wondered out loud what it was but I had no idea what to say.

I've been wondering this, too. I'd like to know the length compared to a tri-top since a tri-top is too short for me (only because I have a large chest, not because I'm tall).

Looser shirts maybe? What lines are you talking about exactly, like on-contact or visible lines?
As far as shirts go, this may be strictly personal preference, but I actually prefer button-ups during the summer. At least the ones I have, they're a hell of a lot lighter, they don't get all sticky and disgusting, and obviously they hide a LOT better. It might help that I only wear short-sleeved button ups, too.

The new gen mesh is short.  My v-neck is pretty long, *whips out measuring tape*  It's 15" shoulder to bottom, 9.5" from v-neck to bottom, and 6" armpit to bottom.  I guess it's the stretch, but this binder doesn't push my boobs down like all the others, it acts more like a sports bra so that length is plenty.  I have the long version of the high performance, but the binding material is 16-17" shoulder to bottom (it's on, and I'm lazy).  I can measure the mesh later (in the wash) but it's almost too short for me.  All those binders are size L.  Perhaps someone with a short high performance can add in.

It's about the same dimensions as my tri-top. Sadness. My tri top has about the same dimensions but from the collar to bottom it's around 11.5 inches.

New gen jersey mesh measurements for the large:

Shoulder to bottom seam 14
Neckline to bottom: 9.3
armpit to bottom: 6.2
Circumferance smallest: 32 and largest: 35.  Those are unstretched.  The largest it stretches to is about 38. 
I'm 5'4, 140 lbs, 34DD and I'm going to put an extra inch or two of velcro on it to make it snugger.

It's really weird that the measurements arent' that different from my V-neck but it fits much differently.  With the v-neck,  it's cut longer from the shoulder to the arm.  I almost want to pull it up a bit, if that makes sense.  The mesh is shorter through the chest and sits up higher, which helps with underarm issues.

Oh, and I washed the jersey mesh today and it softened up a ton.  Doesn't feel anything like the underworks anymore.

i believe people have sold them here by putting a thread in the gear section. and then there's always ebay just remember to put chest and binder in the description, i for my part have searched ebay for these terms many times.

I have one of the velcro short binders in 3XL and it's fantastic. Not too short, I'd say just the right size. I'm a bigger guy (around DD) and I have no complaints. Comfortable (much like a tighter sports bra) and very breathable. I usually tuck a little of my undershirt into the corners so it doesn't cut in, but even when it does cut in it's minor.

The love boat one I just ordered showed up the other day. I can definitely say that I wouldn't have been able to get that thing on at all without the velcro, but that velcro is a bitch to get fastened properly as well. It still looks like I've got something kind of bulky on under t-shirts with it on. At least it doesn't feel like it restricts breathing and it's better than some sports bra.

Ok ... day 2 of trying to figure out this binder thing. Initially when I put it on it felt ok, but I've noticed that trying to do anything in it is just not happening. It does feel like it's constricting being able to take a full breath at all even when just sitting around with it on. I'm not sure I can hang with it. I've tried adjusting how tightly I'm putting it on of course but if I have it at an ok level then it's no better than a $5 sports bra from walmart. I imagine it helps out guys more that have really large chests. I bought this one too because it's a v-neck and I thought it would work better with v-neck t-shirts and button up shirts. With shirts I can get away with it under there but on the t-shirts the fabric part where the v is poofs out. Like it's pretty obvious you're wearing something under your t-shirt.

I know part of this is just the fact that I'm weird about feeling anything constricting around that part of me. But I know enough other guys have these that they must be dealing with them somehow. Any tips you can toss my way? At this point I'm pretty much at the point of giving up on binders.

hm. i don't know about this particular binder, unfortunately....generally, if you're looking for more comfort and less restrictions, there's two ways to go:
either you can just get a more comfortable binder. such as the sports pullover binder by juya.
or you can get a binder that doesn't give much at all and wear it looser.

what i experienced with most double binders,  a brand which i do not particularly like, by the way, was that they got high strength ratings on the love boat site but when i ordered them, they didn't do much to my a-cup and i had to wear them real tight for them to do anything. i prefer a stronger, albeit still comfortable binder that i do not have to wear too tight for it to work.

also, are you sure your binder is the right size for you? you shoul be somewhat able to make the two velcro parts touch without having to pull really

I can get the velcro fastened loosely fairly easily, but if I want it to actually make me flat that's when it becomes a problem in both fastening it and in feeling like it's not too restrictive.

I totally have trouble getting on most sports bras though too.

That's by far the most comfortable binder I own, hmmm.  Have you tried angling the velcro?  You can make it tighter up top where you need it and looser towards the bottom.
