I have to admit that I loved watching British Sci Fi when growing up as a kid (along with the comedy shows, particularly "Are You Being Served?"). Recently, I've revived this by watching the newer Doctor Who series. I've also indulged in Torchwood (soon to be Starz/Channel 4?) and Being Human (I prefer this version over the Americanized SyFy version).

Anyone else? Other shows of note to recommend?

If you get a chance to see it, the recent show Misfits is really good, I think - sort of about what happens when dysfunctional people get superpowers :). Third season coming along later this year, can't wait.

I have the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy miniseries on DVD.
Now I feel like watching it...

I love H2G2, I have the books, the radio show, the telly show and the movie, I don't have the towel or computer games though...

The Inifinite Probability Drive has rendered your HG2G as an H2G2 - but we are hip enough to grok it :)

it's a subtle nod to the BBC's H2G2 website which is in turn a nod to the Guide :)

Two classics that are worth finding are the two feature length dramas

"The Flip Side of Dominic Hyde"

and

"Another Trip for Dominic"

They do both exist because I was the was the BBC VT editor who restored and digitised the original 2" VT master recordings.

I grok it in it's fullness.  Any Dr queries should be directed to our own Time Lord (Lady?) Jen. She has the gen! ;D

I've been a member of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society since I was about 11.   I love new who and classic who, however I do get annoyed when the new series refers to the old one and then ignores prior continuity  e.g the Doctor's regeneration cycle.

Douglas Adams used to be the script editor of Doctor Who and wrote a couple of classic stories.   In the Christmas Invasion, the Doctor tells Rose what a lovely man Arthur Dent was!
