There's an LGBT meeting group close by but I can't go there, I've got a lot of bad history with a lot of the people there. I mean bad, bad history.
I was wondering if on the off chance anyone was/knew someone in the Binghamton NY area and knew of another group? I'm restricted to just hometown because I've got no car and rely more or less on buses.

Look into groups at Binghampton University...maybe ask if non-students can come?

Didn't even think of that. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely be checking that out.

If you were closer to Alfred, I'd invite you over to our campus group. No problem, hope it works out!

Yeah, I'm pretty isolated up here. Not having a car doesn't help much either X_X I'll check out SUNY, and I might call BOCES too. Or hell, just call up the one nearby and see if the group I've got problems with still frequents it.

The only one I know of in the area is named (I believe) Butterfly, though I know nothing further about them. I apologize in advance if this is the one which has been such trouble for you.

I cannot claim any experience with them; although I used to live within an hour of Binghamton, it was only late last year (having moved to North Carolina years ago) that I learned of them due to a series of coincidental connections with someone else who also lives here (short form - she was involved in EON and Butterfly apparently rather spun-off of that group.)

Haven't heard of Butterfly, actually. No, the one I went to-can't remember what it was called-was great up until this group from the local high school more or less 'took over' it, led by this one girl who's obsessed with anything gay-related. Thing is, she's a massive bitch, doesn't care a thing about people and just stalks gay guys because she thinks it's so uber-hawt.

My experience with university groups is that they don't check student IDs at the door, show up and just go with the flow.
Our biograhies are our own and we need to accept our own diversity without being ashamed that we're somehow not trans enough.

I went to a Transmasculine meeting at The Cube (is that the one you were referring to?) when I was still living in the Binghamton area. The guys all seemed really welcoming and down to earth. That was about two years ago, though, so I'm not sure how it is now. I'd second the recommendation to check out SUNY Binghamton... it seems like one of your best bets in the area (I know it is really isolating). Broome County Community College also has an LGBT society, but I don't really know much about it, unfortunately.

Yeah, The Cube is the one I've been looking at. I emailed them a few times but haven't heard anything back unfortunately...Stupid me, I was at BCC for three years and at the ass end of my last year, found out about their LGBT group. I'm slow, lol. And ->-bleeped-<-ing socially inept for the most part.

So you've been here, too? How was the one at SUNY? I'd like to avoid BCC because there's a cluster->-bleeped-<- of people I've got really bad history with that're probably frequenting it just to be "seen around the gay kids".
