Hey guys.  So, a couple of months ago I ordered a second tri top binder from Underworks, a white one, in the same size as my old one- medium.  The black one, even after 6+ months of use binds much tighter and the fabric feels thicker than the newer, white one.   Going by the measuring guide Underworks has specified, a small would probably be ideal (I have a fairly wide upper torso compared to my tiny waist, so I ordered up, but so many guys on here are around my size and bought smalls or extra-smalls!), but the black medium tri top has always done a good job of getting me flat with very minimal discomfort (I hardly notice I'm wearing it really), so I figured the white version would be the same, but it seems to be a thinner fabric that has more give or runs bigger.  Has anyone else noticed this?

That's strange, I've noticed the same thing but in reverse.  Over the years I've had a total of three white tri-tops and one black one, and I found that the black one feels thinner and looser than the white ones.

Weird.  Now I'm wondering if there's different manufacturers these are coming from, like maybe ones made at certain facilities use slightly different fabric or patterns.  I mean, it's not the end of the world, it was only $30, but it's a big enough difference that I don't want to wear the white one unless the black one needs washing.

Hmm that is really weird. I was gunna buy a white one next, but maybe I wont because I like the black one a lot and I dont want to be disappointed.

I haven't noticed a difference at all. My white one has worn out so it's not binding that well anymore, but I've had that one for years while I've only had the black one for a couple months.

I've noticed a big difference in the double fronts.  For years I only used the white ones, but last year I decided to get one of each (black and white).  The white was very loose (binding wise) and the black was tight and thicker.  I was very pleased the black one and I still am.  But I needed two more binders (one black and one white) for this semester.  The black one was ridiculously loose and the white one was tight but not as thick as my old black one.

So I have no idea what's going on, but it's not just the tri-tops.

So it's probably not a manufacturing date thing either.  Ugh.  That's frustrating, because that means if I order another one in a smaller size it could be too tight, and if I ordered another in the same size it could fit fine.  Maybe I'll just take the thing in, I do have a sewing machine after all.  Still though, consistency would be nice.

Just updating to say that I did order a white tri-top in small, and it is indeed much too tight, breathing is difficult and it left deep indentations under my arms and on my sides in just the 15 minutes I wore it for.  No thanks, I'll just take in my medium one a bit.  ><

i only know this from word of mouth but there's several threads on here concluding that the black underworks binders generally run a little smaller than the white ones. since i'm almost too skinny for their xs black one i never ordered a white one.

Good to know, thanks!  I think it's probably just a different fabric, even my small white one feels thinner/lighter to me.  I am a bit disappointed that I'm in between sizes because the black binder shows through a lot of my lighter colored shirts, but I do sew, so I fix the medium one and it'll probably hold for at least a few months.  I also might look into the lesloveboat binders as well.
