Hi everyone...

I just joined, so I thought I'd introduce myself real quick.

My name's Emily and I'm a 19-year-old transgender lesbian who's been on HRT for about 4 months now.  I'm currently in my Sophomore year of college and have a good support base in the form of the LGBT organization on campus and an apartment with three other wonderful queer-identified people.  I also have a mother who is very supportive of my transition and is (for now) funding it for me!  My dad is not quite as supportive and generally just avoids the topic completely.  My extended family is rather conservative and religious so they mostly am horribly misunderstood by them.  However, one of my mother's brothers (and I believe his wife) is very supportive at least.  Working with my therapist and OBGYN I hope to be able to go full-time by the start of the next semester in August.

So I guess that's basically my story!  If you have anything else you'd like to know just ask!  Also any tips/advice is very much appreciated!

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome!

School is going fine, about as well as one could expect with transition and other such issues to deal with.  I'm studying History and will likely minor in Political Science, so that should be fun. 

HRT is going well enough.  My doctor just upped my estradiol to twice a day and added spironolactone, so I should be getting some great results soon!  Really excited about that!
