So, I just got my first binder!  ;D
I'm super happy, and once I got it on I freaked out a bit because I looked SO flat.

But, I want to know, what's the best way to bind? Because, I just have it on but it is kind of noticeable that I have a chest... any tips on how to make it look flatter?

PS: I have an Underworks 997  :)

It depends on you body shape really. Binding for me works best when my boobs are positioned out and down. You just have to experiment with positioning and see what works best for you.

I agree with the poster above me - experiment with different positionings.  Out and up works best for me.  Also, it's worth bearing in mind that most cisgender men do not have completely flat chests, either.

Out and up can work pretty good unless you've got a really big chest like me, half the time I end up with collarbone boobs or something. I usually do down and out, and just adjust my shirt often. What really matters, honestly, is that there's an "out" in there somewhere. If not, you'll probably end up with the dreaded unimanboob.

You've probably heard it elsewhere but in case you haven't, button ups. Button ups are life savers. Button up and hoodies, I'm not even exaggerating, make MASSIVE differences.

Also, for me personally the 997 worked a lot better when I doubled it up (but I'm thinking mine are a lot bigger than yours).

I tend to just pull 'em out to the side a little, then either pull them up or push them down and see what looks better. Wearing an extra layer helps a lot, too - even though I'm pretty small-chested I always tend to wear at least a couple of layers to help smooth things down a bit (also stops people feeling your binder under your shirt!)

It takes practice, and it's really frustrating. Does anybody else find they bind better on some days than others?! Sometimes you can bind the exact same way from one day to the next, but the little buggers just won't sit flat no matter what you do! >:(

WTF is up with that? I hate that. I had it perfect a few days ago when I went to a family thing where it didn't even MATTER, last night I still looked all lumpy. BAwwww.

All I do is slide my binder on. It pretty much does all the work for me.
But I guess I'm just a bit more lucky in that department.
Every day brings me one step closer to being myself.

I do down and out too, kinda pulling them towards the armpit area at the same time.

Does anyone else have a problem with their binder sliding downwards during the day?
It's really starting to annoy me, 'cus the straps end up pulling on my shoulders and the bottom of the binder compresses my ribs as well, which is none too comfy. >:(

I actually have a problem with it sliding up and my boobs spilling out of the bottom. Never heard of your problem before.

Can't say I've ever had that happen, the sliding down. My issue is weird, since mine are so big unless I get it exactly perfect I get those collarbone boobs I complained about earlier, where they're kind of spilling out under my armpits. It's balls.

Hahah, sounds like we all have pretty differing problems.  :P

I have this problem all the time. Im wearing two binders at the moment and even in a large t-shirt you can make out I have breasts. Im a DD and they are still growing. Both my binders are like vests so when I put them on I stretch them down as far as I can (usually just above my knee), and then put my trousers/pants on but even when the binders are stretched it doesnt flatten them as much as I would like but maybe i'm just being paranoid as I am passing but I guess I bind for my own personal comfort than to actually pass. Sometimes I can get them quite flat but I do have to keep rearranging myself during the day as they seem to find a way to get back to their stupidly large size.

My chest is kind of large and saggy, so I've noticed that if I leave things as is or push down, there are two distinct bumps near the bottom of the binder.  However, if I push things up and out, it seems to even out better.  I'm sure the best way varies by person.  Just try shoving everything around until you find what looks best on you.
