Gender Therapist in Brisbane Australia

Hi to all the Aussie members out there....

I really need some assistance, hopefully someone can help.

A friend of a friend in Brisbane has a young son who has been in therapy for a little while for a few issues but gender identity has never been considered as an underlying cause until this week.

They understand the importance of dealing with a therapist that has GID experience.

Can anyone recommend a Gender Therapist located in the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast area?

This friend would be most grateful for any help.

I believe the "Brisbane Gender Clinic" would be a good starting place to try.  This place crops up in various web pages. when you you search for the words that I quoted.

I have also been doing plenty of googling and have come up with a few options.

However i was hoping that i might be able to get a personal recommendation from someone who has used a therapist in Brisbane.

I also live in Brisbane, and I have the same problem. If you find a good gender therapist, could let me know please?

For anyone still using this thread or whom finds this thread in the future.

I'm a former resident of brisbane, the only therapist I know and could recommend is Dr Helen Hoey in Roma St.

More to the point however, I would recommend strongly that nobody seeking gender therapy consult with Dr Diana Hamilton in Sunnybank. She believes in RLT before HRT, and has profoundly warped and incorrect views.

I would also recommend avoiding Dr Alison McColl, she has similar views but is still significantly better than hamilton.
