Hello everyone..I just had my 10th laser treatment from American Laser Ctr.
Based onthe pkge I bought, I can go bak 14 more times. Im not 100% happy, but hopefully I will be. I have some grey that will require electrolysis. But there's some areas just under my nose around my lip that are dark that should be gone by now. They spend around 20 min per session and the setting
is on 35 I think. They told me the laser will go to 45. ? for any of u that have had or are having laser treatment..Does ur tech spend more than 20 min??

I just finished session #9 (started a little over 12 months ago).  Not sure of the exact setting nor whether settings are consistent across laser manufacturers.  Most of my beard is gone though.  My cheeks, neck look really good.  But mustache and the area between lower lip and chin are my probelem areas.  My tech normally spends about 15-20 mins per session and i have some minor redness / swelling after each session.  So I'm not sure how much stronger (or longer) I would to or could go (upper lip and around lips are most painful).  My tech mentioned in my last session that she doesn't think I'll get 100% reduction in mustache etc. but 90-95% may be the best to hope for.  I know there are no guarantees regardless, and no one will tell you its 100%.  Not sure if HRT would help any (sadly I'm not on HRT yet).  So I'll probably keep going on laser until i stop seeing incremental improvements, then switch to just a couple times / year for touch ups / maintenance... or possibly meet with an electrologist to see what they can do.  The laser is a lot cheeper and faster, so switching to electro after this might be one last attempt to finish things off, or just hope / pray that HRT would take care of it.  Best of luck.

My sessions are about 20 minutes. Settings vary between 20-30 (she said 30 was the max for the machine used)

My suggestion would be to get as much as possible off with laser, finish off the rest with electrolysis, then HRT. You wouldn't start mowing a lawn with the grass clippers, you'd use the mower first, then the clippers for what remains.

Laser (relatively painless, fast, and targets a broad area (but maybe misses greys))
Electrolysis (more painful, slower, targets individual hairs (excellent for getting those missed greys)
HRT (hair changes are a beneficial side effect, but one doesn't do HRT *just* to lose hair)
