Are there just a few or a lot, and are they big or small?  My guess would be either irritation from the razor or ingrown hairs.

It does sound like razor rash. Don't scratch! Try not shaving for a couple of days, and put some aloe vera on your face - very soothing. Then look out for shaving lotion/cream that has no perfume and so on in it (something whole earthy), and if you're not already, try using the so-called ladies' razors? It may well help a lot.

I havent shaved in a couple of weeks and its still there..
nah they are small, barely visible if at all - i can feel them when i touch my face and it bothers me lol

ok well i'll get on some earth products, thanks. Seems aloe vera is the cure for everything these days XD

any tips for the future? like, could i be doing something wrong to cause this?

Oh, okay - if it's been a couple of weeks since shaving, it's not shaving that's causing it. Lee's right, could be ingrown hairs, could be random skin eruption from hormones, could be some other skincare product or soap you're using - or could be hives - how are your stress levels lately? Aloe vera won't help that last one, but it might soothe anyway :).

...

Don't scratch it! :)

I'm guessing ingrown hairs?
I'm not on T yet and i've never really been prone to breakouts. I don't really use anything on my face, unless it's really dry - then i'll use organic moisturiser.

what do you do with ingrown hairs O_o

If it's itchy, it could definitely be an allergic reaction to something.  Maybe it's black heads under the skin?

I used to get those after shaving, then I switched to after shave instead of moisturizer.

That could work - though aftershave is very drying, and moisturiser can be very greasy, so that's why I recommended aloe vera, as it's moisturising but non-greasy. Worth trying different things. whatever you're putting on your face might be blocking your pores or follicles.

Just because you're not on HRT doesn't mean your hormone levels can't change anyway, especially in teens and early 20's - the body's still doing a lot of shuffling around. I grew an extra inch when I was 21, whilst having mono (in height, in height...) and broadened out so much my shirts all split down the back - that was no fun. This kind of stuff affects the skin too. I hope it clears up for you soon. (Don't scratch ;D)

I use witch hazel after I shave for washing my entire face.  It seems to work well.

Ah yeah actually looking at my after shave... I have "Gillette intense cooling lotion" apparently it's a 2-in-1 after shave with cooling moisturizer. Maybe that's why it works well hahah. Smells nice too.

Oh, witchhazel smells great!

yeah, those after shaving balms are pretty good (different from "aftershave" which is usually just scented alcohol, which is what I thought you meant - ooh, stings!)

Yeah I wondered that after you posted so I had to check to see what I had. Hahah don't think I've ever used the reaal aftershave stuff. Sounds painful though.

I also dry shave now and don't get bumps but still use the after shave lotion stuff.

Really?  I have an odd nose, and either the kind I get is odorless or it's one of the things I just can't smell.  To be honest, that's one of the reasons I like it; I don't like to smell like anything .

Thanks guys, I've been too worried to shave since because I don't want it to happen again
but I will and I'll try something new - after all I've only shaved twice before.. so I'm still learning

lol

Ah - then maybe it's just that your skin's not used to the brutality of the steel :). Good luck. I'm only shaving now in order to have the laser, and it's causing havoc with my face (which is why I normally don't shave, and use clippers instead). but I want the smooth, so I've got to take the rough for now.
