I've told my closest friends, who've all taken it pretty well and accept it. Of course, some of my closest friends are a part of the GLBT community, so they think it's cool that I'm one of them now.  But my family, not so much. And I didn't even tell them really. I just told them to stop calling me by my birth name, because I hate how they scream my name like it's an insult. So of course it only resulted in my birth name being screamed even louder and more forcefully and being told that THAT IS MY NAME and THAT IS MY PLACE IN THIS WORLD to be beneath everyone else! Yes, I was literally born to be someone to treat like dirt. No lie. I HATE my family! If my car wasn't such a piece of ->-bleeped-<-, I'd have packed up and left yesterday.  >:(
