T question?

Is it standard that you have to be in therapy for the 3 months before most doctors will put you on T? ive been in therapy for a while now, doubt its 3mo. tho but my therapist will def write the letter/referral

Yes, that is standard practice.

My therapist has written letters sooner for people who were already on hormones illegally, getting them on the street, etc.

It is standard, but it may well happen more quickly. I got mine fast-

3 months is the WPATH standard....however, my therapist said after our 1st solo session - I have had 3 sessions of couples counseling ... that she is comfortable writing my letter.

As Rob said 3 months is the WPATH standard but, I received my letter after 4 sessions (one month) with my therapist. The WPATH standards are more a series of guidelines more than rules. If your therapist is willing to write your recommendation sooner it will not effect you in receiving testosterone therapy from a physician unless the physician happens to be more of the "gatekeeper" type.
