Good Morning,
The last year or 2 have seen me finally having the guts to be true to myself.
I wanted to live as a gurl for many years but with kids &  society that didn't make
it easy.
Well, the kids are grown up now & Frank has disappeared while Franci has made an almost
complete appearance. And I couldn't be happier.
It would be easy to look at all the wasted years I spent miserable & unsatisfied but I have no
more time to waste.

Franci from Boston

Welcome. There are a few of us almost the same age as Cher on here, so don't think you are alone.
One advantage is that you don't feel you have to give a rat's **** any more.
Karen.

Hi Franci:

Welcome to the site.

If you're in the Boston area, check out the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
We need all the help we can get on Lobby Day, May 3rd to push through "An Act Relative to Transgender Equal Rights".

Hi all,

Boston is not a bad place to be in my situation. Susan's Place is a nice place to be
& a great place to meet & make contacts..

Hi Franci, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 6200 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not matter when we come to end of that road of pain and misery, as long as we get there.  I started my transition ad 54.  And I so understand the pressures that society has had.  That was the main reason it took me so long to begin.

Hugs and Love,
Janet

Hi Franci

Welcome to the forum dear.
Good to read that you are happier than ever.
I think you've had a hard live with playing the role you actually aren't.
Very brave and altruistic to think for the welfare of your children, but now....it's franci's time.
I wish you a smooth transition.

Hugs
Annette

Thanks everyone for the kind words & support.
Maybe this is just "my time"..
My sons have all had theirs & have turned out pretty well considering they
had a "fake" dad whose mind was always somewhere else..
I now live on my own & for 60 actually look pretty damn good...lol
The only time I don't dress to myself is when I'm with family but they are coming
around.
Thanks Again Sisters

Hi Franci  :icon_wave:

Welcome to Susan's. It is always nice to welcome a new sister to the family. I know all about the "fake" dad thing. Been there, done that. But now, it is MY time.

Enjoy your stay here and keep us up to date with your progress.

Sorry not being rude :-*. There are a number of gorgeous mature ladies here. We have to keep the teens under control. So sorry, you have not lost a family, you have gained one. And you haven't lost the children you have just found a site full of young girls and boys who need help and advice. And a far number of  not so young boys and girls ::)

Hi, Lovely to meet you, it's great you have finally been able to be your true self. I was having a conversation with somone your age a little while back who was saying that felt that were to old to transition, I said to them that in my honest opinion you are NEVER to old. It's never to late to right a wrong in my opinion :)

Day 2 of the hormones and I am starting to feel like a giddy schoolgirl! Even if it doesn't do anything for my body I am enjoying the trip, :icon_bong:!! I feel all bubbly/happy/warm and fuzzy/ love everyone/smiling all the time/laughing more/undepressed and lots more.

Better late than never indeed.

Karen.

Franci,
Welcome to the club!  I'm 58, a Navy veteran myself and finally starting the transition.  I tried back in the late '70s, but I was 'convinced' not to.  I had no wife or kids to worry about.  You have plenty of girls here at Susan's in the same boat as you.  Hugs,
  Joelene
