what happens when you move to a new city, how do you get hormones?

I MAY be moving to a new city a few hours away from where I am now.  I currently have to travel about 45 minutes to get to my endocrinologist, and I only see him every 6 months.

So, if I move, how do I get a prescription for my hormones?  Do I have to go through the whole process again, jumping through hoops?  Or do i just go to a doctor, tell them who I am, give them my letter (or a letter from my current endo) and they prescribe me and take care of me and keep my levels healthy?

Kinda confused as to how it works.

You shouldn't ... when I move ... I get a year's script from the doctor - don't know if you can with T ... and then I immediately find a new doctor in my new city and set up an appointment.  You go to your 1st apt and tell them your on T for GID and be prepared with your old doctors information - fax, telephone # , address etc ... sign a release for your records .. the doctor gets it and by that time your script shouldn't have run out yet

so you dont have to jump through all of the hoops of confirming your transsexuality again?

Nay you shouldn't have to ... its just a transfer of care ... you can also have your doctor send a referral before hand
