The law added "sexual orientation" to a state legislation that bans discrimination in housing, employment, insurance and credit. It made Washington the 17th state with laws protecting gays and lesbians, and the seventh to protect transgender people.

Hutcherson is the pastor of Antioch Bible Church in the Seattle suburb of Redmond, home to Microsoft Corp.  When the gay rights bill was before the legislature in 2005 Hutcherson threatened a national boycott of the computer giant if it did not disavow itself from the gay rights bill.

I think that many people do not realize the actual percentage of GLBT people (either out, closeted, or stealth) that there are.  We are more powerful as a group than they can imagine.
