Sigh! Damn application forms

Just applying for a very good engineering job, and under gender it has the usual 2, plus prefer not to say. Then under sexual orientation is has transgender as an option! I'm slightly annoyed as this just shows that people are so greatly misinformed about what transgender actually means. Anyhow, I feel slightly annoyed that under diversity they now want to know your sexual orientation.

Not sure where this company is but yes they need to be educated.  Asking your orientation is against the law.  I have seen a few that do have the third option for gender.  But I always check "female".

I've never heard of any job application asking for gender orientation.  That's just weird.

It was under their diversity monitoring section, all optional answers, but I thought it was very wierd to ask sexual orientation; and then to put transgender under that category.

They probably see transsexual and think orientation.  Although a lot of laws combined the two.

It bothers me too sometimes.  I was nosing around an online support forum for social anxiety, and under gender the options were male, female, and transgender.  Then under sexual orientation it had straight, gay, and transgender.  They really need to look up what that word means before just slapping it everywhere.

I just put female on any document asking my gender or sex. I think it's pretty fishy that they are asking for sexual orientations, though. That's really none of their business.
