So, I went in for a free consultation for laser hair removal for my beard. I was slightly optimistic, as a have very fair skin, and somewhat brown hair. Basically, they look over my beard and basically told me that laser would only remove about 20-25% of my beard. Apparently, my beard has a lot more red in it than I originally thought, and they said that their lasers would do nothing for red hair, because of the highlights.

Now the problem is they want to charge me $4401.00 dollars to remove that much of my beard. Based on my hair type, should I just forgo the laser and hop straight on to Electrolysis?

I'm so disheartened by this, and frustrated. I'm not made of money :(

That sounds like a huge price to me - I was quoted £950 for 8 sessions of full facial hair laser in the UK, which is around $1600, and I'll probably only get 3 sessions in the end as most of my facial hair is white.

Definitely sounds like a better deal. My main concern is with how much of the beard is being cleared. I mean 4k is a lot for only 20-25%, even 2k seems like it would be kind of a rip off given the results

Agreed. Sounds like a combo of HRT and electrolysis is your best bet, as it is mine. Might still be worth getting another laser consultation elsewhere for comparison, though.

That quote sounds greatly over-priced. I paid around $8,000.00 USD for full body laser hair removal (which included my face). Also since it will only "remove/reduce" 25% of your facial hair, I'd go straight to electrolysis, and skip the laser.
