I finally came out to my parents, and it has gone better than I expected.

I wrote them a letter, they read it, but neither have talked to me about it.(which im fine with, its what I wanted)

My mother is being uber amazing, and I am completely shocked by it.

Right away she went into cutting down on female pronouns, and that born name.

I am in awe and also am eternally grateful for her efforts. I wish I could actually show her my appreciation for the acceptance and respect.

For those of you who have accepting friends, family, and loved ones...make sure they know how thankful you are for their efforts in respecting you, your name, and using the correct pronouns.
We should have an appreciation day for these wonderful people. It may not seem like much of us to ask, but I think its a lot to ask someone to change their habits.

Congratulations!! I am happy for you. Glad that your Mom is so awesome. I know that means allot to you. Wether she realizes or not it does to everyone. Every time someone stands up and acknowledges the truths correctly and handles life gracefully it paves the future road for others to accept and for kindness and love to be shown.

Thank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Patty
