California presses for 'Real ID' relief

California and other states have been on a campaign against the measure. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Real ID is expected to cost states about $11 billion over the next five years.

Oh and I thought the opposition might have been on personal freedom or such grounds, but no, silly me, I should have known. California, the golden state, golden because we are forever looking for way to pad their stinking bank account.
