trans-friendly roommates?

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to find an apartment of my own (currently living at my parents' house) for a while now, and I haven't been able to find anything within a reasonable distance from my work (don't have a car yet) that's affordable for me. So, I need a roommate. My parents are pressuring me to move in at a all-girls apartment (they don't know I'm trans, and if they did know, they would shoot me if it was legal!), which I really want to avoid. I want to share an apartment with a guy (gay or straight, doesn't matter to me), but I'm not sure how to tell potential future roommates that I'm trans, since I'm pre-everything and don't even own a binder yet.

Does anyone know of any roommate-finder websites that are trans-friendly, or at least have some option to list that you're trans? I've set up a profile on a generic roommates website, and put in the comments section that I'm a pre-op, pre-everything transman, but you have to have a subscription to view other people's comments, it's expensive so most people don't have one.

You can try http://www.prideroommates.com/home.php

Craigslist or Kijiji may be useful as well. If your city has an LGBT newspaper you could post an ad there, but that would probably cost.

Though it doesn't sound like it, OKCupid might be worth a shot.  A lot of people on there are just looking for friends, even though it is kind of a "dating site" ... just be very specific about what you want.
