The Inequality of Equality...

This afternoon I was exposed to a recent video of an allegedly transgendered person at an American McDonald's getting beaten 6 ways from Sunday. Although it doesn't show it in the video, the apparent context was that she was accosted after using the bathroom and somehow offending other women in there, who subsequently went berko, though it is not clear if it was some action or just the fact of her existence.

As horrifying as this is, I kind of still feel detached from it. I guess I still take a very brutal view of the world. But as a transwoman, I have to consider several things:

1) People hate me. People who haven't met me hate me just for breathing. One day I might meet one of those people. They might choose to show their hate with their fists, or worse, a bullet.
