i have a question regarding cargo shorts - i feel like all pants that don't have back pockets (or very small back pockets, or back pockets like most cargo pants, where all you can see is the flap: http://uncrate.com/p/2006/12/flannel-cargo-pants.jpg )and have "angled" pockets in the front make my butt look ridiculously large (even though in most other pants i have no noticeable behind) and the front pockets make my upper thighs look wider than they are. do you guys not have that problem or do you just choose cargo pants that have more jeans-style pockets? i guess it might be because of my body type  ??? i'm really slim throughout so what gets by clothing accentuated will stick out..

I generally wear boot-cut jeans nowadays. And I'll agree with previous posters that a little extra room in the waist means a bit more space in the ass/hips/thighs. A word of caution, however; sometimes you get the clown effect where there's too much extra room in those areas and you end up looking like Ronald McDonald. It really depends on the cut and how/where the jeans hang on your body. If you have the chance to try them on before buying, always do so.

I recently have fallen in love with the "Dungaree" style of pants.  They're super wide legged [made to fit over construction man boots] and have a great feel to them.  [Though I suppose I don't actually have much of an ass]
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
