Malaysia "sissy camps" create international outcry

TERENGGANU, Malaysia -- Last week, 66 male students were taken out of school and sent off to government-sponsored "re-education camps" to address their sexual orientation.

The boys, targeted by their teachers for having "feminine qualities," will be brainwashed in an attempt to rid them of any possibility of ending up gay or transsexual.

Efforts to shut down the camps have failed, and now Malaysian activists are reaching out to the international community hoping to put pressure on Prime Minister Najib Razak, who has ignored the public outcry.

While I find this whole idea as distasteful as I'm sure most do, I can't help but wonder of these people  have bitten off more than they can chew

I certainly had manly values pounded into me, but most of the boys in my school were straight. And it certainly didn't work in any case.

  Here we go again with this macho Islamic leadership of Malaysia really trying to define and widen the the gender divide!  These clowns even tried to outlaw tomboys!  Hey, I like tomboys!  Now they're trying to get at the little boys lest they even look at their sister's dolls or plays with or near girls?  A re-education camp for children!  These people is taking Islam too much to extremes.
