hi, well ive been thinking alot about this and i wanted other opinions do any of you believe in mothers intuition. My mom always tells me that when she lectures me or worries about me its cuz of her moms intuition. That gut feeling she has. Im not sure exactly what to think but i know a couple of times that shes lectured me or told me not to do something, something happened that proved her to be right i guess. Well i just wanna know do any of you believe in this?

I don't believe in it, at least in a supernatural sense.  Correct gut feelings can just as easily be attributed to educated guessing based on prior knowledge and experience.

Mothers intuition is like using a shotgun to swat a fly. They worry and nit pick at random things and just happen to help now and again while just adding stress the rest of the time.

Hi Elsa
I think mothers intuition starts with the way the children acts.
Mothers will have the most contact with children, they give birth, they feed them and they see how they raise up.
They know their children, and when a child shows behaviour that wasn't before, the mother will of course notice it.
Than they will have questions, because mothers are also very curiouse.
The child than thinks he/she can't keep a secret for mother.
But mother doesn't know excactly what's going on, so they use like Chastance said a shotgun to hope they can catch a fly.
When you shoot again and again there is a possibility you hit the fly.

No, not intuition, just a good look at your children and fishing till something is catched.

hugs

Intuition isn't exclusive to mothers, it's something we all possess to a greater or lesser extent. And it's strongest with those we spend a lot of time and share a close emotional bond with. It's not supernatural as much as it is subconscious; picking up subtle changes in body language, voice tone, changes in the other person's emotional state - a myriad of sensory signals that usually bypass the "everything has to be black and white" conscious mind and register instead in the "look at all the subtle shades of grey" subconscious - in order to provide a 'gut feeling', as you call it, that something isn't right, something that you can't quite put your finger on because it can't be defined in such a way that the conscious can understand.
