Ok. So i been on hrt for about a week and a day or two, and im wondering...when is something going to happen?! Its like im waiting, but is it working?? i know most of u gonna say that i need to be patient, but is it really working?? Did u feel this way? i also thought that the pharmacy i went and got my prescripts filled, gave me the wrong meds. ughh. :(. Does these pills differ in colors around the world?? My estrodial pill is a small, baby blue and my spiro is white and medroxprogestrone is a little white pill...

You are right in that you will have to wait for a while before you will see noticable physical changes-but they will come if you stay on the feminizing meds. I noticed the mental changes almost immediately but it took a while for me to notice my breast tissue start to change shape.
Different manufacturers of these meds will make them look different from those of another brand so I can't advise about what you were given. If you have a valid prescription and took it to a commercial pharmacy they are legally bound to give you what is prescribed.

You received the proper pills. The dosage of estradiol determines what color it is. I used to have the low dose pink ones when starting out but now I'm taking several high dose green ones per day.

It definitely takes time for the changes to happen. We all wish it were instant but it's just not - at least you're making progress though.

It happens slowly over the course of several years

You will not see noticeable effects (other than a small amount of breast tissue) for a long time.  I've been on hormones for 10.5 months and see a different in my face and breasts, but it really does happen slowly over several years, like Karyn said!

Also, YMMV.

Basically you are going through a 2nd puberty and while you are doing that you are fighting the effects of your host hormone. your body will start going through what a teenage girl does. You'll feeling some emotional change in a few weeks to a few months. You typically will start feeling changes emotionally within 6 weeks and you'll know if HRT is right for you.

You don't simply take a pill and it starts altering your personality, your brain slowly starts redirecting over time to the new hormone.I will say that I had a girl say to me, "I've been on hrt for a year now and I don't feel like I think any more feminine."  to which my answer was, that was something you should have felt BEFORE trying hrt.

I know when you finally accept yourself and that you're going to change it can be euphoric and you want to get from point A to point B rught away but in reality think of it as a lifetime state of being. You are not doing this to change today, you are doing this top change your life. I will be quite a ride so sit back ann work to enjoy the new experiences in your life and one day you'll wake up and you will notice a physical change starting ... Good luck

That is how life will be now, Rose.  You will feel somethings, like tender nipples.  Door frames will become your nemesis.   You may wish to take photos about every week or month, and then you can see the changes.  Otherwise you will never really see the changes, for months or years.

At 37 months I am still finding changes.
