According to your experience, does muscle loss comes with HRT only?

I'm on a diet to not gain any weight. However I am worried I won't lose any muscle. I've always been very lean, but I did a load of push ups during my denial phase and have a large chest for my build. I have noticed I lost muscular strength and my shoulders are somewhat lean, but I worry about my chest.

Then when I think about losing weight, I think it is obvious I won't get fat deposits in the correct places if I do. So, I am stumped.

If you're on a diet and aren't getting enough protien or doing physical activity you can definitely see muscle loss from that.

The above ticker is meant as a joke! Laugh! Everyone knows the real zombie apocalypse isn't until 12/21/12....

Yea.. I've been pondering on the subject and I figured the best way to go about it is to do cardio and eat well, allowing HRT to work and have patience!

I'm not an expert on nutrition by any means, but I know a good amount about the effects of exercise, so I tend to focus on that rather than eating habits. To lose muscle is not complicated for a physically fit individual, running long distance (not around the block, 5-10 miles would be ideal) will significantly burn your muscle, as your body uses it for fuel. The key is to NOT intake lots of good foods, you want your body to be hungry. This way is a lot more painful than sitting on the couch eating nothing but ramen noodles, but that shouldn't be a surprise, seems like everything involved with transition is painful. After weeks/months of running 3-5 times a week, at least...you're well on your way to being a string-bean of skin and bones! Such a low fat content will not help a female figure, however, so perhaps being lazy is in order? That's the part I don't know much about, I lack a lot of fat myself :/

How about Pilates or Ballroom dance?

I have a notion have to be stirring away from those more typical male exercise ideas and notions.

Think nothing is wrong with getting a "can" (butt) so long we can maintain some WAIST!
I do ballet exercises (mostly floor). Stuff to keep my waist and leg splits supple (sorry, no more all the way). Trouble with most is to be REGULAR.

Did my fair share of windsurfing and wow does that form out your chest! If only I'd KNOWN. Shrink called it "overcompensation", that can't be argued. So I do zilch on top at present since not as yet suffering from "chicken-wings".

Might give some idea, but love to be at least 5kg less - girlie thing? (male lead bones, or not)
