Just over a week ago I attended the Registy of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Melbourne and applied for a change of name and new Birth Certificate.

After waiting for over an hour,  making sure I had filled out the application, produced a multitude of forms of ID and of course handed over $89, I was told it would take about four weeks.

Today when I got home it was in the letter box!!!!  :eusa_dance:  :icon_dance:

I am now officially Karen and commited to going full time from tomorrow. Vic Roads, for licence and vehicle rego, banks, Medicare, health insurance and all the rest will keep me busy for the rest of the week.

Awesome news Karen.  I too went full time shortly after changing my name.

Congratulation, Sis.

Thanks girls.

Got dolled up for the Licence photo this morning, hope it turns out better than the old one LoL, and had a very pleasurable morning doing the rounds of some of the places I have to notify.  No odd looks, and several "bye Karen"s as I left.

I spent a while talking to the woman at the Health Insurance office about the details of transition, as she asked how things were going. Hopefully that will help the next TS person to come through the door.  Still a few more to do, and I will probably send letters to some of the friends I made at work explaining what has been going on , now that I have left.

One happy Kaz!

It's so much easier here in Australia. We're lucky in that respect. Congratulations.
