I'm seeing more and more women, especially young ones, with extensive work done on their lips. I assume it's fillers, I really don't know much about the subject.
What I do know is that I don't think it's a good look at all (especially when paired with the tarantula lashes), and I am left wondering what they will look like as they age.
Do the treatments "fade" and need replenishing? Will gravity and the loss of the elasticity of the skin cause them to droop (like other areas of our bodies?) Are there unknown longterm health risks?
Enquiring* minds want to know. ;D
*Bonus points for knowing why I chose that spelling!
@Devlyn
Dear Devlyn:
I completely agree... it is not a "Good Look" and I think it looks hideous at best.
While "natural" is good, there is nothing wrong with a "little" enhancemenet, lip gloss, liner, etc.
If my barn needs a fresh look... a nice, new paint job is a worthwhile improvement.

Ah yes, the 'National Enquirer' -- containing all the fake news unfit for print.
Most of the 'duck lips' are from fillers, which often fade after several months. Where do those fillers go? I don't know the answer, but maybe someone with more knowledge than I (which is an astronomically long list) can provide and intelligent answer.
I have lip implants. Although the initial swelling did look a bit 'ducky', it subsided after a few days. My lips don't seem to be much fuller than they were before, but I'll take even a slight improvement. I have no plans for fillers.
Love always -- Jessica Rose
You get the bonus points, Jessica! :)
Hugs, Devlyn
I just have my natural lips. I add to that colored lip balm or regular lipstick. I have used lip gloss but not that much.
At times, I still enjoy seeing my lipstick marks on a cup of hot chocolate or hot coffee.
I have not tried any fillers.

Well, duck lips are certainly not the look I'm going for...but I guess beauty truly IS in the eye of the beholder... :icon_yikes: With that said, extensive body piercings and tattoos aren't for me either, but to some they're beauty enhancements and I just try to always see the beauty within. (Besides if I had duck lips, I'd just keep running into things with my face...LOL!)

That quacked me up! LOL

I really don't like the fish lips. I hope it's a passing fad.
Paulie.
If you're on a tight budget, you can pick a fight in a bar and get popped in the mouth for the same effect.

Two truths and a lie:
I've received bar fight lip treatments.
I've never posted on this site before.
I've given away bar fight lip treatments.
@Devlyn

Yeah...I haven't been in a good bar fight for many a year. ;D
Hugs, Devlyn
I have never been in a bar fight and I am NOT looking forward to starting one now...
Heidemarie
@Devlyn I never did that when I was in the AirForce....
my buddies did, but I sat back and watched.

I have natural lips, no intention of changing that. I use a lip liner and lipstick daily to give shape. Not tried lip gloss. I hate the huge false eyelashes. I would however use false ones and false brows (don't have much or any natural) if easily removed for when I am home.

Let me guess...
A good bar fight is one where the MPs don't haul you away when it's over? ;)
