Non-binary talk / Am i non binary
Last post by Leo1997 - Today at 04:57:46 PM
Hi everyone, i wanted to really ask for some advice about identity and how you all came to realise what you really identify as?

A few years ago i first came here under my original account which seems to have been lost asking for advice as to whether i was a transgender woman, but more recently I've began to wonder if i may closer identify with a non binary identity?

I really appreciate it is hard to tell how another person feels internally, but what i really wanted to ask if anyone could share their story on how they became aware that they themselves were non binary, so i can begin to try to understand what i am feeling more clearly

Thanks as always! Leo

NBC marks Pride Month with documentary on 'queer' animals
'Queer Planet' will challenge 'the traditional concept of what's natural when it comes to sex and gender,' the show touts

NBCUniversal will kick off Pride month with a new nature documentary celebrating "queer" animals.

The LGBTQ animal series called "Queer Planet" will premiere on June 6 on the media company's streaming service Peacock.

"Take a worldwide journey exploring the rich diversity of animal sexuality — from flamboyant flamingos to pansexual primates, sex-changing clownfish, multi-gendered mushrooms and everything in between. This documentary looks at extraordinary creatures, witnesses amazing behaviors, and introduces the scientists who are questioning the traditional concept of what's natural when it comes to sex and gender," the show's synopsis reads.

Actor and show host Andrew Rannells claims in the trailer that the existence of "queer" animals shows how "just two sexes is clearly out of style."

"Nature is full of queer surprises. To be honest, we should all probably get laid a little more than we do," he adds.

State Department issues travel alert for LGBTQ people, events abroad
ABC News Report

The U.S. State Department issued a "Worldwide Caution" alert on Friday, warning U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution due to "the increased potential for foreign terrorist organization-inspired violence against LGBTQI+ persons and events."

According to an administration official familiar with the matter, the alert is connected to the recent announcement from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security that foreign terrorist organizations might seek to exploit "LGBTQIA+-related events and venues," including events during 2024 Pride month, which begins in June.

The alert comes on the same day the State Department is commemorating the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia, and Transphobia.

Last year's Pride month was also marked by safety concerns after the Department of Homeland Security issued a report warning that domestic violence extremists and people who commit hate crimes have increased threats of violence against the LGBTQIA+ community in recent years.

LGBTQ advocacy groups have issued a "state of emergency" in the U.S. following record-breaking waves of anti-LGBTQ legislation as well as a spike in reports of hate incidents.

On the other hand While I was growing up, there seems to be some things said that would suggest that I had indeed had sexual corrective surgery as a baby. At one point my father had said I should reimburse him for my hospital expenses when I was born. I knew very well that I was born at home, so at the time his statement made no sense. Another was about the baby dresses, either the photos or I was still wearing dresses as a preteen. My mother's response being that I should have been given the choice of being a girl or boy. Being such a long time ago, I wonder if I really heard that or if my mind made the whole thing up.
The statement that she never put dresses on any of her boys makes me wonder if she did not consider me to be a boy. Each photo has a different dress, They were put away and none of my sisters wore them, and I think they are in a storage trailer. In case you haven't guessed, quite likely I was potty trained while wearing a dress. Another reason for baby dresses, it is easier to change the diaper.
Then the statement, "You are supposed to be a boy, so act like it".(Not you are a boy.) Am I a girl pretending to be a boy.
I considered myself to be a girl that could pee while standing up.

I like earrings; but, of course, not all of them.
