Title: What are you driving??
Post by: SashaGrace on October 31, 2015, 07:53:14 AM
I couldn't find a topic like this anywhere so I thought, as a self confessed petrolhead, I'd start one and be nosey, see what all you lovely guys and girls are driving.

I'm currently rocking my Mum tank, a 2008 Volvo XC70 D5 SE Premium Geartronic and I love it. It's my third Volvo in a row and I can't see us being without a Volvo now. I've had all sorts of cars, from hot hatches to 4x4's and we are currently looking for a new Mini for my fiancee though we are after a Clubman for the little one and the pets.

So here's mine, now I wanna see yours :)

I should have mentioned, I used to be a professional detailer and I am very sad when it comes to cleaning the car! It now has my private plate on it and a few other mods but I'm not putting up a recent pic as they were taken 2 months ago; 5,000 miles later, it still hasn't had a wash because I've been busy so it's rank!

I wanna see yours now, lets have a car talk thread! xx

2003 Chevy S-10 with the extended cab. Bought it when I was a senior in high school. I'm 30 now and it's still moving along nicely. It's rear wheel drive and an absolute disaster in the snow. It's just good for hauling some stuff :P. I've been thinking about getting a Subaru but I kind of just want to stick with what I have until it's on its last leg.

Oooh nice :) I've had a Subaru but I sold it after 5 weeks due to the image they have over here; driven by baseball cap wearing muscly guys, usually with huge silly exhausts and speeding sideways everywhere! Mine was a blob eye Impreza sport hatch WRX STi in blue with gold wheels of course lol.

Cracking cars and indestructible things! I love the AWD on my Volvo though, it's great in the snow and it's now showing 148,000 miles and you'd never tell

What a painful topic. I'm currently in mourning.  :'( Recently parted with the absolute love of my life, a cherry red 2004 Acura RSX. My poor baby. Lost and alone, out in the cold cruel world without me in the driver's seat.

Okay, I'm exaggerating -- but only a little! I really did love that car from pseudo-futuristic dash to its leather seats to its doofy lil tail fin. And it drove so beautifully. I used to make trips up and down the U.S. west coast. Would've kept this car until I drove it into the ground, tbh, but I needed the money. So I paid my tuition, but at what cost? [More gross sobbing]

Lovely! In red too, me likey! They're badged as a Honda Integra over here and are quite rare, especially in the coveted Type R form :D

I'm starting to look like a boring old woman with my Volvo haha. I used to have an Alfa Romeo 159. Does that count haha. We've had 8 cars in the last 4 years between us but I've had the Volvo for a while now. Love it

Shame your RSX had to go, but I'm sure you'll find a suitable replacement before long!! xx

Ah, the Volvo's grand, though. Definitely a mom car (;)), but only because they're so nice and dependable. I'd drive one, for sure.

No new cars for me, sadly! I moved back over to your side of the Atlantic, and if I'm honest, the wires are still a little bit crossed re: which side of the road to drive on. :D I've almost died on my bike upwards of a dozen times now. Put me behind a wheel, and god only knows what'd happen.

Haha, you wouldn't say that if you came across it lol, 2.4 5 cylinder diesel Polestar mapped to 205bhp, 450nm torque :D It's faster than my Alfa was, but that was a 1.9 diesel. With doing 30,000 miles ish a year, something nice and comfy was needed. Also, I need an auto these days as I had a huge, near fatal crash 4 years ago as a passenger and I nearly lost a leg and it crushed my spine so I have some bad spinal discs, making clutch pedals hard work!

I gave up riding a motorbike for this!! I used to have a 2004 Burnt Orange Suzuki SV650 with lots of mods!

Yeah, I hired a car on holiday in Spain last year; I was fine over there but when I came back :O I was awful lol

My neighbor thinks I drive a very unfeminine car but I still love it. I have a 96 Ford Mustang GT with the 4.6 L engine, 5 speed manual in Pacific green. When I went to buy it, I told the salesman that was the only color I didn't want but it was year end and the selection was very limited. Naturally I nicknamed the car Kermit as the result of the song "It's not easy being green".

I have the same 2001 Chevy Cavalier I bought in '02. Champagne in color. I will keep it until I have to get rid of it. It's one of the few items I have from my Male days. When I bought the car, guys would joke that I have a 'chick car' Now that I will be a full chick by Apr '16, I guess I bought the right car.

I have a red 2002 Jeep Liberty Ltd Canadian model. Due to my being lazy and having excuses to not go to a car wash, and can't wash it at the apartments, I've accumulated enough dust and dirt on it to finger draw hearts on the windows.

2015 Renault Clio, in flame red. Named 'Rocky', as in the picture show. ;D

It only has a 1-litre engine, but it's turbo-charged... so it drives like a 1.6 but with excellent fuel efficiency. Comes with built-in SatNav, cruise control, aircon etc. etc. etc.

I have to say the new Clio is so cool; we looked at a 0.9 TCe ourselves but power wise it was too much of a step down from our 163 bhp Mini. The R-Link is so easy to use though, I loved it!

I with I could say the Volvo was efficient, but I didn't buy it for efficiency really haha. Only trouble is the Volvo is £295 per year to tax and the Mini was £225 and so will the replacement Mini! Never mind though, we can't wait to get one!

Land Cruisers are beastly things! Before the Volvo I had a Range Rover (dream car!!) but let's say it wasn't exactly trouble free and with all the miles I do these days we decided to downsize to the XC70 as its still AWD and heavy enough to tow our twin axle caravan. I had the RR remapped as well from 177bhp to 193bhp and it was still slow! The 3.0 Td6 diesel was built for smoothness over speed. The gruff D5 in the Volvo is rather noisy but it pulls like a rocket ship and I also used to have a RenaultSport Megane 250 which is a fast car!!

I'm driving a dark red Chrysler Sebring Touring. It has a moon roof, heated leather seats, two cup holders in the front, one of them heated and cooled, and two in the back. It has a satellite radio with built in MP3 player and CD. It also had a large tank, good mileage and pickup. I've driven it from Port Jervis on the border where NJ, NY and Penn meet all the way to Cedar Point, Ohio on one tank of gas! It's not my lost and beloved Harley, but I love this car!

Mostly, I'm lucky if I can just drive myself.

I currently have a Chevy Malibu 2009, 4 cylinder. It's boring but it was the cheapest car I could get at the time with the best mileage estimates. I haven't had any problems with it until now. I have that stupid engine light that is finicky. It only comes on when I take long trips and goes off right before I go in to get it checked.

I'm saving for a Toyota Prius but I won't buy one until this car gives up the ghost. That should be in about 80,000 miles, methinks.

So, do we seriously not have any gear heads in this group?

Title: Re: What are you driving??

Well you have me! It's just that life and being a parent means having a car like the Volvo. My Range Rover was an awesome car build quality and lots of niggles let it down :( My RS Megane was a rocket, the 159 the most stylish, the Impreza was mental, the Mini was perfect but we need something bigger so we want a Clubman. The R55 Mini is turbocharged and makes 175 bhp, our old convertible was supercharged and made 163 bhp.

My Dad has a Lotus & an Aston Martin. Do they count?? Xx

Cindi, wrenched on cars a lot when I was younger. if I had them time now would have a cool 60's car in the garage for restoration. big dream for me and a friend if we had the time and money, build a nostalgia dragster. probably a fuel altered. one problem , we would have to find a shoe. I'm to old and gimped up to drive one and friend is to big to fit into the cage. oh well ... try to go to the drags when I can , don't seem to have the time to make many though. I guess I'm a gear head in spirit right now. to the o.p. I drive a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500..

Built this for desert use.  Nothing left stock.

1.6 Liter FI engine swap
4.89 T-case gearing
4.52 pumpkin gearing
Long shackle YJ spring swap, front and rear
Scissor steering gear

Top speed in high range/5th gear is about 61 MPH.  Low range crawler all the way.

I swear I wrote a reply to this yesterday or am I having a blonde moment again??

Love that little Samurai, miss my off roading antics in the Rangie but I sold it on 112k miles with a gearbox on it's way out (used to slip in reverse when it was hot). Bought the XC 11 months ago on 117k miles and it's now showing just under 149k miles!!! I've been a busy girl with it and if it ever stops raining, it might even get a wash haha.

Serenation, you got me wondering what you own now haha, must be really nice!

Here's a pic of my Dad's daily from back when we were on speaking terms...

Not my car, as I don't have a car yet, but when I do get my first car I definitely want a Honda Civic Si EP3, as Civics already have a special charm about them to me, added upon the fact that EP3's aren't too common in my region, as EK's and EG's are way more common and I want something that people look at and think "That's not too common!" I already have a build in mind for my future EP as well, I want a small turbocharger and an aftermarket cooling system and vented rotor brakes with aftermarket coilovers with polyurethane bushings for the tighter suspension and better handling on the track, as well as a slightly bigger displacement in the block. c: Visual mods aren't really what I have in mind, bar maybe Volk's TE37's for the rims and that's about it.

My legs, lol.

I'm serious. Hell, its hard times right now. But as an old ancient proverb goes, "Be thankful in times of adversity. Be generous in times of prosperity." And since the former of that obviously applies to me even more right now, I am so thankful I even have legs to take me as far as they can to where ever I need to go.

Lots of people who have cars wish to the heavens that they had legs like mine or were in shape.......They be wishin' they could have the unprecedented discipline I possess from the very limitations that have once held me captive like a prisoner on death row. Now my greatest disadvantages are becoming my mightiest advantages in a wild twist. :)

An 03 Chevy Tahoe as daily driver (120K miles), needs TLC
For serious work, I use my '07 Ford F350 Diesel Dually (40K miles) to pull the 12K lb  travel trailer or moving the Tractor on the 12K lb flatbed trailer.

The nicest car we have is the wife's one year old Subaru Forester.  I didn't think I'd like the CVT type automatic transmission, but I actually love it.
It's entertaining to be on cruise control and watch the RPMs change and the fuel consumption change while the car speed stays the same. I also like how when going down hill in cruise how the transmission downshifts to keep the car's speed steady instead of just going faster and faster. We get better than 30 MPG on the freeways!

Serenation, you got me wondering what you own now haha, must be really nice!

Here's a pic of my Dad's daily from back when we were on speaking terms...

I want it; sometimes I plot his death so I can inherit it lol xx

I used to have a V8 Vantage in arctic blue. It was nice, BUT, I believe I have that all beat. Here is my current collection:

2014 Chevrolet Corvette stingray Z51 (special numbered launch edition car) Laguna Blue
2013 SRT Viper GTS (in darth vader black no less)
2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport convertible (60th anniversary special edition, blade silver metallic my summer beach house car)
2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Dragon Edition
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland edition diesel arctic white
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Any time anyone wants to meet me or see my cars in person, simply stop by Kringle Candle cars and coffee in Bernardston MA in the summer. I usually take the viper when the ferrari club of new england is going to be there because they let me ride with them afterwards or I take a corvette and ride with the vette people. This year I took a nice drive with the ferrari owners and had the honor of riding behind an enzo ferrari. What an awesome sounding car that's all I can say.

I love cars and can't get enough of them!

Hi Zumba girl;

Snap I have an identical Jeep Grand Cherokee overland edition diesel arctic white, except mine is the 2015 model. I just love the adaptive cruise control, although it takes some getting use to it. You just have to learn to trust it, although I find it most difficult when merging onto another freeway where vehicles are merging at different speeds.  The other problem is that sometimes the emergency collision system can apply the emergency  brakes. I had that happen to me driving in Melbourne when I was driving down Collins St and one of the older W Class Trams passed me, the Jeep Grand Cherokee jammed on the Emergency Braking system as it detected the tram running alongside me thinking I was about to collide with it, which of course I wasn't going to! It really is sensitive.

Adaptive cruise control is sweet. The Cherokee is nice to take when I want to be lazy lol. Before the cherokee I had a Dodge Charger SRT8 that also had adaptive cruise control, and that car was really fast. I'm actually amazed at the mileage I get on the Cherokee, although if you can believe it or not the Corvette Stingray (C7 vette) can easily get 34-35mpg for me, using eco mode. That car actually amazes the heck out of me every time I get behind the wheel.

Usually in the summertime it's sports cars for me and honestly going fast is a rush and cruise controls just aren't fun in those kinds of cars :)

Hi all, Just to add mine on here, my Car is a Suzuki Grand Vitara GV2000, She's a bit battered and long in the tooth( bit like it's owner) but it's fun, nice to drive and simple to work on. To get to work i usually have the works Renualt Kangoo van. And once i get there it's a '05 plate MAN M2000 18 tonne skip loader. When i get some decent weather i'll do some piccies and put them up for a laugh.

I bought this a year ago and absolutely love driving it, although I spun a rod bearing so I had the engine rebuilt, bored it out and polished/ported the heads.  It came stock with a Corvette LS-2 that runs over 425HP and 400 ft. lbs. of torque now.  It also has a Corvette 5 link suspension with automatic air assist shocks that allow it to tow up to 7600lbs.

I bought it because I wanted something fun to drive that was clean and comfortable.  I needed something that could carry a fair amount of stuff, since I run a comic convention booth from time to time for some friends of mine.  I just took it on a 900mile road trip that was mostly winding mountain roads and it drove like a dream.

I recently purchased a 2016 Mazda Miata which is one of the best rides I've owned. Before that I drove Toyota Camry and similar cars. When I went to look at the car the price was rather high, told the sales person I would think about it. He came back and said, keep it overnight, I drove it that night and the following day, after that it was a keeper.

I joined a local Miata club which goes out driving every (or should I say most) Saturdays. A one hour destination usually turns into a two to four hour drive. Best part are the curvy roads as the car is truly made for this.

Would post a image but not capable yet.

Some more cool stuff coming up here :) Have to say I have driven a few Nissan Leaf's as there's 3 of them used at work and we have 2 ecotricity charge points to charge them so that'd make owning an electric car very cost effective if I could charge it at work, sadly I'm leaving there soon but if I were staying it'd make a convincing case for a Tesla haha but even a used Model S P85D is £60,000 still so it'd have to be a Model 3 and they are a while off yet...

In other news the Tank has killed it's second turbo so I'm using a courtesy car and thinking about moving it on soon, little before time but needs must sometimes :(

We love Laura's new MINI so a second Clubman could be on the cards but I'm thinking of the new shape 6 door variant which is a fair bit bigger than the old one we have now. See how the new job goes first I think :)

Keep them coming!!

I drive a 1986 VW Westfalia camper van.  These old hippie vans have character and a surprising resale value similar to or greater than the original cost.  Kind of a cult thing as they are no longer made and highly prized.  They are way fun to drive but even more fun to camp in.  And then, my legs are my airbags and they are not terribly dependable rigs.  I recall having to get out and push it down main street, in the rain wearing a favorite new dress:'(

My wife drives a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek hybrid that gets great mileage for an awd.  Around here Subarus are considered the car of the lesbian nation :D

My truly favorite ride is a flaming purple Bike E recumbent bicycle that starts every time and has thousands of miles on her.  Once manufactured here in Eugene Oregon they are also no longer made. Recumbents are kind of like riding a lawn chair and bicycles are the most efficient human powered machine ever invented.  The best mileage, virtually no pollution, easy to park and a great way to see the world while smelling the roses. ;D

The Lada was actually good fun, they built them for the Russian army as a Landrover equivalent, 2 tonnes of enamelled (yes) Russian steel that went anywhere. I loved my Jag, but at 16mpg and a small tank, I spent my life and all my money at the forecourt! When I put my foot to the plush Wilton carpet, I could actually see the fuel gauge fall.

16 mpg isn't bad, I used to get 8 mpg out of my X5 4.8is if I tried, had it down to below 6 mpg at times ;) That was running on LPG though so on petrol would have been a bit more :)

I found the D5 in the Volvo not to live up to its mpg claims as usual but I tired of 28 mpg due to the kind of car it is; the Audi does better than that!! It's a manual though and the Volvo was an auto and it's only a baby 163 bhp one and it's not a quattro one either so no more 4 wheel drive for the time being :D

On the bright side: It is paid off, costs nothing in taxes, gets an oil change once a year and that is it. OK - I splurged on fancy headlights...

Mostly used to haul stuff around.

At least in one part I can compete... the 16 mpg is what I get

One fun item... Since I am follicle challenged, I wear wigs.  That means that when driving with the top down, I've had to master the art of the classic head scarf.  I feel so... so Audrey Hepburn! :)

In regards to turning in your man card because you have a Miata, the way I see it is a Miata is a great car for females  ;D

As the OP I thought I'd come back to this and see what's changed. Last time I posted I'd sold the big Volvo, bought a convertible Audi as a stop gap and ordered a brand new Range Rover Evoque. Sadly my order wasn't put in on time for MY16 and when MY17 was released the colour and wheels I wanted weren't going to be available. The car would also be slightly more expensive with the options I had chosen but the dealer was willing to find a way around this. In the end I didn't like any of the other colours so I cancelled the order and got my deposit back. I went back to Volvo and bought a 3 month old V60 which has been the worst car I have ever had and I fought with Volvo Finance to take the car back and they finally did a few months ago.

So my situation changed as I was offered another cheap runabout to get to work and I had room for a proper fun car again so I splurged on this...

My daily driver is transgender.  2001 Audi S8 modified with a stick shift.  (S8 is performance version of the A8).  These were only sold with automatic in the US but I prefer a manual gender... um, transmission in my hands.  I also notice some airbags are labeled "SRS".

My truck cost 8 cents per pound ($450 USD for 3 tons of metal), a 1970 Ford F250 big block 4 speed.  I disconnected the power steering to avoid a leak but need to fix that asap (I fix everything on my own).  I'm starting HRT a few weeks from now, pretty sure I won't have enough muscle to drive this beast without power steering.

One of my other cars has been voted a Chick Car on various lists... a Fiat 500 convertible.  Mine is the Abarth model, I installed a bunch of performance mods (drives like a street legal go-cart).  Grey with a red interior, license plate 50SHADE

So, I'm actually driving now, and what I drive is a lot different than what I thought I was gonna drive. I somehow managed to get my hands on a 2006 Lexus IS350 with 112k miles on it. (Which is low for a Toyota.) I'm at 120k miles now so all is well, it's paid off and registered, I sunk most of the money into it (I had a little bit of help), and I'm hoping to save enough from my job to afford TEINS coilovers along with an Invidia midpipe and an F-Sport axleback. That's about all I want to do in terms of mods, since it's already a beast as is.

I almost bought a Land Rover.  I answered some questionnaire about them and a dealer called.  He asked what interested me most in them.  I said, honestly, I like the shape and as a fashion statement.  I probably wouldn't ever take it off roading.  That's why he called me.  Somebody ordered a white one with red leather and rattan interior.  Then after it coming they cancelled.  Now the dealer was stuck with this oddball.  I went to see it, and it was beautiful.  He took a tremendous amount off, just wanted it gone.  I couldn't talk myself into it back then.  I would take it in a heartbeat today though.  Oh, beautiful car.

hey Bari jo, that sounds amazing 😀 in a mad moment last January I bought a series 2a out of a field. It had a small tree growing through it. I've almost finished it, it needed a lot of work. I'll probably get rid of that one though and don't think I'll be doing that again ( dysphoria avoidance). Still it does look cool and has headlamps in the centre, all the lights and indicators are Lucas  glass ones too😊

I have a Volvo S80. It's a nice car and I like it but I didn't pick it out. My dad got it because it's got a lot of safety features and it's supposed to be like really safe in an accident. I really don't care about a car. As long as it works and isn't ugly or like an ugly color I totally don't care what brand it is.

Some Nissans are Renaults and Dacia's are based on old Renaults and then VW/Audi Seat Skoda parts shelf

Some cool stuff being mentioned here! We've just sold our 2005 R53 Mini Cooper S convertible as we are looking for an R55 Clubman Cooper S to replace it with.

Aagh! A 2005-2008 Cooper S Convertible is my dream car. I was bummed you didn't sell it to me until I saw you were in the UK. Though it would be cool to skate around the US in a Mini with the wheel on the wrong side. I've always loved the Mini convertible, but it's even more attractive now, since here it's regarded as a "chick car."

I'm currently driving an Indi Blue '03 R-53 Cooper S 6-speed coupe with 81,000 miles for go-carting around town and making easy road trips. For heavy duty stuff I take the '08 F-250 diesel truck out of mothballs. On our current trip we're using my wife's '15 Honda Fit (she can't drive a stick).

I know the feeling.  I was almost able to buy my dream car also, but couldn't afford to own it and another at a daily driver.  It was a perfectly restored 1972 Lotus Elan S2 hardtop.  I love that car, epitome of the words cute with classy.  It is also simple enough that a regular girl like myself could do the maintenance.  Someday bari jo will look very cool behind the wheel like Emma Peel.

I love the Elan. It's the car that the MX-5 Miata was inspired by. I had a couple of those until I got Maggie, then there was no room for all three of us. That's when I got the Mini.

I didn't realize Emma drove an Elan. But Bari Jo would still look uber cool in an XKE convertible.

Did a 2,600 mile road trip the week after buying and our little one liked the car so much, she was perfectly fine up until the last day (7th driving day). All the new driver assist stuff saved our life once in an almost crash...

My last was a Mazda 323f, which I got for nothing. I had to retire it eventually

Going to look at something new tomorrow, not another Mazda though, the parts for those are expensive as hell here.

Shame the PB links have been removed now there's a way around viewing them, so as OP I'd better update.

The toy is still with me, 5 and a half litres of AMG loveliness

As part of getting a new job and going back to heavy commuting I had to get something practical again so I have paired the Merc with this

Actually surprisingly good, my first foray into VAG ownership is going well, though it is a vRS which keeps me happy.

The 3rd car was an R55 MINI Clubman Cooper S Hampton but it wasn't practical enough for our needs and although it was characterful and drove amazingly well, it had to go and it's been replaced with...

... nothing! Yet ;) Am going car shopping for the 5th time in 12 months next weekend and hopefully we will whittle our choices down from 6 to 1 :)

My hubby and I share a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage. We named it "Gary", after the snail in SpongeBob (It's a snail).

I plan to get a truck soon, though, as I will need it for the property we're buying/severing, and I want to get a Kawasaki Ninja, or something like that for my summer ride. But that's it... one car for now.

My ride is a '17 Subaru WRX.  Still fun to drive but more practical for a girl that has to lug cases of tools around in her car for a living.

My DD is a 2018 Mini Cooper Countryman JCW in island blue with a chili red roof. It's a stick and has recaro seats. We recently drove this to Disney World for two weeks and while I love the car, the four dimensional, multi-variate Tetris game of packing was much more challenging than the Ford Edge that I traded in for it.

My weekend fun car is a 817rwhp 2011 Shelby GT500 that I am the original owner of and have modified the you know what out of.

There's something appealing about British cars for me as well.  But then I snap out of it when I remember the one time I helped work on a Jaguar with a V12 in it and spent more time wondering "what kind of drugs were they on when they designed this?" than I did actually fixing things.

I used to have a British car, brilliant white convertible.  It never had an engine problem.  Tuneups were like $600 minimum every six months though.  It had problems with everything else.  Lights not flipping up, windows not raising, ac going out.  I had to replace the compressor for the ac once and they had to take the engine out to do it.  No joke, that is super retarded.  I probably paid 5.5k a year in maintaining that car.  Still though I miss it.  I'll get that one above  in the picture someday to replace it, and do a rally across America in it.

Driven a few of those , fixed them as well and cant get my size 10s on the pedals . Very tiny car, Jag v12 is a pain, you have to remove (raise) air con compressor and throttle linkage to change spark plugs. Saying that its harder to change plugs on a 350 Vette

A Daewoo... something or other. Forgot the model. It's too small for my taste after previously driving a Vectra and Mazda 323f.... but it was the only thing that could be got locally at short notice and wasn't a total heap.

My most recent picture just happens to be after an accident. Some old lady merged on top of me and managed to blow out my front left shock.

I painted the trim on this one just a few days before the transmission decided to call it quits. Now I'm just hoping that all I need to do is replace the solenoid.

A gorgeous, white, 4-door Jeep Cherokee. 200k+ miles and still going strong. He's 22 this year, here's to hoping I can make him last another 22!

Work I've done since I bought him a year and 7k miles ago:

- New aluminum 3-core radiator
- Replaced some steering components + sway bar bushings
- ALL new suspension: coils, leaf packs, shocks, and bump stops
- A zillion small things, like repairing a fallen-out map light and a lost door check pin

Stuff I'll be doing in the coming months:

- Ignition kit upgrade
- Angel-eye headlights
- New stereo
- Anti-theft killswitch mechanism
- A set of 5 new, slightly bigger tires: from 225s to 235/75/15s (Hankook ATs... wish I could afford BFGs)

Stuff I'm thinking about doing in the future:

- Lunchbox locker in the front diff
- Diff armor, gas tank skid plate
- Aftermarket bumper with recovery points and a hi-jack mount
- Aux reverse lights
- New engine mounts, and really... all rubber in the entire vehicle should probably be replaced at this point
- Bedlining the sides :9

Going Merry (a One Piece anime reference) is a 2005 Honda Civic LX Special Edition that I bought from my Mom in December.  She just hit 92k miles. [emoji4]

I was taking a pic of fallen magnolia petals aka pink snow, and thought she looked nice. [emoji7]

Pre-Nina, I drove nothing but Saab's...had 3 of them.
When I transitioned, went to something more practical and cheaper on insurance: VWGolf

Now, 10 years later, we live in the bush, off-grid...loving my 2008 Ford F150.

Pickup truck. 2003 F350 to be exact. Kinda masculine, but I *was* raised as a boy. Besides, I still have horses and they won't fit in a Prius.

Geez I though I had posted here before, but now I will.
Pretty nasty winters here so I drive a couple for winter conditions.
2007  Toyota 4 Runner, been an awesome winter driving vehicle, about to be retired.
2011 1500 GMC Sierra, work truck
2018  Subaru Outback, another awesome winter vehicle.
But my summer driving pleasure is a 1996 Porcshe 911/993 air cooled.

@natalie.ashley very nice!

I've got my track toy down for some work right now; new driveshaft and K member and a few maintenance things I've been neglecting. Trying hard to find my motivation.

Pretty sure the guy at driveshaftshop laughed when I fb messengered him this photo showing they sent the wrong part with my fresh nails haha. At least this put the #mansplainjng to rest. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190226/05187a71d232e0230bb861343273d987.jpg)

Not a real big car, and not really rain tight (even though I have the optional weathering gear), but lots of fun in the land of the eternal summer!  It used to be a chick magnet, now I have to see if it is a guy magnet (or still a chick magnet?)

Some cool stuff being mentioned here! We've just sold our 2005 R53 Mini Cooper S convertible as we are looking for an R55 Clubman Cooper S to replace it with. I really wanted an Abarth 500C but practically ruled :( Clubman it is!

Oooh!  I was lusting after a Mini after test driving one a pre turbo model (Knowing nothing) and my mom who went along for the ride told me to "Step on it" and then the supercharger kicked in.....  What a fun car!

I was looking for one but a kid I know had to sell his Mazda RX-8 that wasn't quite finished (He put a lot of work into it)  I don't know how to post a picture in this message but its red. Its not supercharged (or turbo) but its got a nice rotary that red lines at 10,000 and does 0 to 60mph in 5 (something)  seconds. Unfortunately it attract lots of people who want to race.  Which I don't mind except speeding tickets for going as fast as these people want to go I think include loosing your license.  At least they are telling me I'm number 1 by that hand gesture with the middle finger...

A Daewoo... something or other. Forgot the model. It's too small for my taste after previously driving a Vectra and Mazda 323f.... but it was the only thing that could be got locally at short notice and wasn't a total heap.

My partner likes tiny cars because he sucks at parking. I prefer something with a bit of horsepower. Ya know, something that can get up hills ::)

One thing I didn't know I liked was how well a car handles turns.  My RX-8 is like nothing I've ever driven.  It glues itself to the road and those 25 MPH cloverleafs are sure exciting at 60mph!

You kids don't know nothing about car driving until you had to fight something like this to motivate yourself forward!
You sit in it, your feet and legs are next to the Massey Ferguson derived 2.1 l engine, and can feel the heat coming from it!
Springs to soften the ride?  Springs are absolutely overrated, they just bother with sharp cornering!

This is my summer car, if no rain is in the forecast, because the optional weathering gear I have is not very effective!

Lovely, Linde! Tonneau cover, luggage rack with the required leather suitcase, wire wheels with knockoffs. What fun!!

But... Weber carbs and an electrical system by Lucas, the god of darkness. Too much work for me.

Well, it is not that much work, for one hour driving time you only need one week work time!  But that one hour beside the steering wheel with real wire spokes pays back for a lot.

And it is a chick magnet!  They know that I come, because the exhaust sound (Monza system) easily can compete with that of a Harley!

And when they said wood dash in those days, they meant it!  A wooden board held in place by metal tabs!
