Quote from: Jessica_K on April 28, 2024, 01:10:25 AMWhen I look back at my long life I see how much I have missed out on because I was not born with the right body.

I read lots of posts by trans women who say they wish they'd been born female.

Not to say that they are wrong when it comes to themselves, but I don't feel that way about myself.  There was all kinds of stuff I suffered because I was assigned male but didn't fit in the box society tried to make me fit into, but I don't believe it would have been a lot better if I'd been assigned female -- it would have been different, but probably not any less awful.  The world I grew up in had rigid ideas of what boys and girls had to be and treated anyone who didn't fit in pretty harshly.

I have a younger sister, and while I don't think they were quite as brutal with her (though I may have missed some stuff since she was 9 years younger), people still treated her like something was wrong with her.  And there still seems to be a conflict in her between how she believes she is supposed to be and who she really is inside, though I don't think she's ever faced up to it.  Twenty years ago I realized that I had to deal my own version of this or I would soon be dead, and that ultimately lead to my transitioning.

Trail ridding yesterday, I had to dismount to move a branch out of the trail. When I went to mount up I noticed I was having a hard time reaching the stirrup with my foot. I mentioned to my wife if I was getting shorter or the stirrups were farther up? To which she replied you are getting shorter. Call it pelvic tilt or old age or both, went from 5'11" to 5'8". It made me happy that she noticed it too.

Well, I regularly get mailings with my deadname on them from companies trying to sell me some Medicare plan or other.  I changed my name and gender with Social Security well before I was eligible for Medicare, so I assume they got my name from Social Security (or someone) from before then.  I throw them away -- if they can't even get my name right, I sure don't want to rely on them to process my medical stuff correctly.

Basically, if you got  on a mailing list before you legally transitioned, your deadname will keep cropping up.

Woke early for a change, expecting the grand prix rerun to be on early I think. Its not on till 9.40 so could have stayed in bed! Picking mum up at 1 to go to a local pub for lunch with aunt and uncle and distant relative(s), turned cloudy after yesterdays sunny day and showers/rain later.

Wow Heidemarie, that looks awesome!

I did pretty good at some straight stitch sewing at one time, but that zigzag stitching, it's a whole other level of sewing skill.

It looks great with that skirt.  (That skirt looks good with those legs too, from what we can see of them.   ;)
